    820-3437 battery not detected

    Hi,
My MacBook Air 2014 A1466 EMC 2632 doesn't detect the battery anymore.
The battery is new, almost... I changed it 3 months ago and it was working perfectly.

Now, there is no more battery icon. In the system list, it looks like there is no battery at all... I've tried resetting PRAM and SMC several times with no change.
With Magsafe2, the laptop is working, very slower than before.

When plugged, green light is on - fan spins - fan stops - orange light - fan spins - fan stops -
    fan spins - start chimes.

I've checked Q7155 with and without battery :

    No battery :
    source 1,2,3 : 8,5v
    gate 4 : 8,5v - 1,23v - 8,5v - 1,23v (change every second)
    drain 5 : 8,5v -> 2,3v

    With battery :
    source 1,2,3 : 8,5v
    gate 4 : 8,5v - 1,19v - 8,5v - 1,19v (change every second)
    drain 5 : 8,5v

What do you think about the drain voltage without battery, it should be a steady 0v ?

Measure the voltage to ground of each pin on the battery connector while it is connected to the logic board.

    Post the measurements.

Concern is with the voltage readings of the smbus pins which are the SCL and SDA pins.

1.2v on the gate will indicate charging, 1.4v will indicate it's not charging. It sounds like the ISL doesn't like something. Slowness is throttling, most likely due to the battery not being detected. First step would probably be another battery. Is there any voltage on the battery, or has it cut off to 0v?

I might also add that the gate cycling 1.2 > 8.6 > 1.2 is also indicitive of the battery not being detected on the SMBus.

Thanks a lot for the advices. Here are my measurements :
        MagSafe2 plugged -> orange

        Battery pins :
        1,2,3 : 8,5v (PPVBAT_G3H_CONN)
        4 : 3,4v (SMBUS SCL)
        5 : 3,4v (SMBUS SDA)
        6 : 0v (SYS_DETECT_L)
        7,8,9 : 0v GND

Source a known good battery from Amazon (risk free) and test again.

Battery is likely faulty. My experience is pretty poor with anything marketed as 'genuine', as they are anything but. An original Apple battery lasts years, but these replacements definitely do not. So 3 months old isn't entirely unexpected on some of these batteries.

I have been using batteries specifically marketed as aftermarket with very good success.

You're definitly right, it was not a "genuine" one, clearly stated as Amazon after market.
Beside that why my 2005 iPod Classic 5th gen 60Go "video generation" is still working with good geniune battery ?! Alomst 20 years
Ok Amazon has accepted the exchange for my MBAir battery so we'll see how long the new one will last...

                  Hi !
                  You were right, again
Battery was the issue in the first place.
Being "Her Majesty Battery the IIIrd", so young in charge,
I was overthinking on a logic board problem.

Thanks for your precious help !
                  Cheers
