    Hi,

Please can someone help me to identify the following component and where I might be able to find a replacement. Thanks so much.

The 2nd line is the part #.

What is the 1st character? Is it '2'?

Then the pimple. Then '41' ?

    Part is from MPS.

    From which logic board? Model?

      Found it:

      MPS p/n MP2941B

      The suffix is important.

      Available on Aliexpress / Ebay

@mon2 would you have any idea on what component is missing in the pic. I can’t seem to find any details for the board.

Suggest to apply a 4.7uH inductor.

            See the reference designs here:

            https://www.monolithicpower.com/en/d...ument_id/4656/

Also suggest to replace the burnt looking cap(s) to the right of this missing inductor.

Measure the pad to pad distance of the missing inductor. Then using this physical limitation, search out an inductor with the highest current rating which will be with the lowest milli-ohm resistance. Lower the resistance, the more power the inductor can support in the switching action of the regulator. The filter caps are perhaps 1206 in body size so consider to purchase 47uF with the highest voltage rating. No idea which board you are viewing and that is important to understand the voltage expected from the output of this regulator.

                  See attached.

The missing component is @ PLG11.

This part is acting as an input EMI filter into this MPS switching power regulator.

Select any EMI ferrite rated @ 5A or higher and is with an 0805 SMD size code.

The higher the resistance value, the higher the component cost and better the EMI performance. In a pinch, this missing component could be bridged with a piece of wire but the wire must be able to support the peak current of 5A. Anything less will make the piece of wire act like a fuse and burn out - like the earlier component that was at this location.

One possible replacement of many for this component:
