    Macbook Pro A1708 not detecting SSD

    Hi guys have a 820-00840 board here that isn't detecting the SSD. Already did all the basic troubleshooting like swapping ssds and all that. The board came to me bent right around where the CPU IC is located as shown in the picture. There was a shorted cap on PP5V_S4 changed it and Also replaced the CPU IC as it seemed to have gotten dislodged where the bend was. And board started working okay and booting with Question Mark folder ofcourse. If i press the ssd connector down hard sometimes I will get it to detect the ssd and it will boot into MacOS. I am thinking if maybe a trace within the layers of the board might of gotten severed and maybe I might get lucky and be able to do a jumper. So was hoping you guys can help me determine what voltage i might be missing or maybe try replacing the ssd connector ? I took some ssd measurements hoping u can guide me further. I just wanted to get this board up and running for my personal use really and to learn and increase my knowledge on board repair.. Appreciate it .

    PPBUS_SSD_FLT = 13.06v
    PP3V3_S5_SSD = 3.3v
    PP3V3_S4 = 3.3v
    PP1V8_S0 = 1.8v
    PP1V8_S5G = 1.78v
    SSD_PWR_EN_CONN_L = 0v
    SSD_BOOT_CONN_L = 1.78v
    SSD_PWR_EN_L = 0v
    SSD_BOOT_L = 1.795v
    SSD_RESET_L = 3.2v
    SMC_OOB1_R2D_L = 3.2v
    SMC_OOB1_D2R_L = 3.2v
    SSD_SR_EN_L = 3.2v
    SSD_CLKREQ_L = 3.3v
    SSD_EN = 3.2v

    Is it just the angle, or is that board bent like a banana?

      cpu heatsink is also 90°

      if board is so bent... i think some trace must have broken on pcb layers....

        Yes my friend it was bent pretty bad. @dellxps yes i agree with you. Some traces may have been broken in the layers.Ah well think i'll have to give up on it then. Thanks

          check first for evident broken trace, then when a board bent like this most of bga component get desoldered.... bga, ssd socket joint and so on.

          a very good inspection with multimeter measurement is required.
