    A2289 820-01987 Question Mark

    Hello,
    Namaste.

I have a Macbook A2289 that came in for repairs citing a reboot issue. Switched it on and i got a Question Mark folder icon. Navigated to recovery and found that the machine is detecting SSD. Went ahead to do a internet recovery but the machine kind of stops midway and boot back to the question mark folder.\
Tried re-installing from a bootable usb. Same Issue.

    The machine overheats and stops.

Board is clean. No dirt, dust or corrosion.

Does it boot OK from an external MACOSX installation?
Might be worth trying a new BIOS image.

820-01700 not booting, 4V PP2V5_NAND_SSD0 but 2.5V when the machine is off.
      by xdever
      Hi all,

I got a 820-01700 of a friend that doesn't turn on. I read that a typical issue with these boards is the TPS62180 generating the NAND voltages, so this is where I started looking. Sure enough, PP2V5_NAND_SSD0 is 4V when the machine tries to turn on (I try to determine this by measuring PP2V5_NAND_SSD1, which is 2.5V as it should in this case. The PP0V9_SSD0 and PP1V8_SSD0 power supplies for the SSD are on at the same time when PP2V5_NAND_SSD0 is 4V). The extremely weird thing is that when the machine is off (PP2V5_NAND_SSD1=0, PP0V9_SSD0=0 and PP1V8_SSD0=0), PP2V5_NAND_SSD0...

Siemens Gigaset DA810A landline telephone with answering machine resets every minute
      by Nick Nougat
I'm posting this here since there does not seem to be a more fitting category.

      The Device
The Gigaset DA810A is a landline telephone with an LCD screen, an answering machine and integrated telephone book. I have the version for the European (i.e. German) market.
It has two separate modules that can operate independently of each other: One is the basic telephony part that always works and is powered by the DC voltage coming through the telephone wire. It relies the TEA1110A telephone transmission and dialler chip for that.
The 'smart' part of the phone with the answering...

      Diagnose real-vintage Strong-Hammer arcade machine
      by edugimeno
      Hi there!
My friend wants me to help him repair his old-real-vintage strong-hammer machine. Well it's only 90% real as the force applied doesn't lift the weight itself but it is measured and it moves a motor that lifts the weight

I am attaching several pictures of the machine.
It basically has 2 sides, left side has
      • 2 x 220->12+24v transformers
      • 2 relays (1 moves motor UP, other moves motor DOWN)
      • IGF and breakers for safety
Right side is shown on pictures. It has 3 boards ( top-down)
      • Logic board. Receives 24AC and recitifies it into DC. Contains a uC (M80C85)
      ...
