[help]a1706! touchbar dead and fans at full speed

hi guys i have a 1706 liquid spilled

    motherboard 820-00923

some one has changed keyboard after liquid spill

problem is that touch bar is totally dead, fans at full speed as soon as i power on the notebook and macbook ultra slow and tons of errors on apple diagnostic

then i've found that resistor r5860 was miss

now macbook works very fast but still no touch bar and fans at fool speed. i've tried another touchbar with no luck

istat and tgpro say there is no problem, all sensors ok

apple diagnostic give me 2 codes ppf003 and ppf004

    any hint?

    thank you

It was the fan connector in this case that was linked.

Carefully review the same SMD fan connector. Remove the flex cable and check the contacts on the thin fan cable. Suggest to use IPA / costco pharmacy grade to clean the contacts. Then seat it back again for testing.

Fan at full speed is also often linked to the trackpad. Is the trackpad attached or removed? Sensors are present in the trackpad that may not be working.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
          by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

          Macbook a1706, dead keyboard.
          by saronno
Anyone has experience troubleshooting keyboard on this model?
From schematics it seems an i2c keyboard, the problem is I can't find a good test point con scl and sda, in order to see if voltage is present (usually i2c works with the 2 rail pulled up with a resistor to a voltage source ... components attached to the two rail communicate pulling the line down.

Apple MacBook Pro A1706 CPU hot, but signs of life
          by baglaivlad
Hi everyone. Got MacBook Pro 13 2016 A1706 w/ Touchbar (820-00239) with strange symptoms. It draws 20V/1A from the charger (w/o battery connected), CPU gets reasonably hot, the fans start spinning (when the CPU reaches some temp threshold), but no image, no sound, no backlight, no touchpad clicks, no keyboard backlight (also no response to CapsLock press), no image on external display (through working dongle and HDMI). The laptop chargers the battery with no issues. Also the laptop reacts to power button like it should be: it kinda "turns on" (the fans start spinning) when on battery...

          Macbook A1706 EMC3071 (2017 Touchbar)
          by kurtspirit
          Hello,

I have a Macbook Pro 2017 Touchbar (A1706) that suddenly shut down for no reason.
So I took it apart and started measuring.
The PP3V3_G3H seems problematic. I traced the line to component U6903 and on Pin 10, I measured 1.9V instead of 3.3V.
Unfortunately, my skills stop there and I don't understand where this type of failure can come from.
I saw on videos of repairers that the failure could come from the U7000 component which would be at the origin of the 3.3V but they have absolutely no voltage. I have a 1.9v...
          What do you think ?...
