HP Spectre 15-EB half of screen has artifacts

Hello!

I'm helping my mom with her HP Spectre x360 15-EB laptop. It's a convertible laptop, with a UHD IPS LCD touch panel.

Bottom half of the screen has lines and artifacts, and top half is fine. I'm unsure if the issue is a bad display, a bad connection, a bad GPU, or something else. I live in Canada and my mom doesn't, so I can't be physically there to do any troubleshooting.

I'm posting some photos of the problem, hopefully someone here can shed some light on this!

Could be cable seating or damage, but more likely the screen.

Very likely scrren is defective

similar issue on a dell 14" laptop - that have touch screen.

Screen faulty for me

Thanks everyone, bad screen was my best guess too. Just ordered a replacement screen and she'll have it professionally installed.
