What hp model is it? Did you swapped the wi-fi module with another one?

Many HP laptops have a whitelist in the bios,that will only allow certain wifi cards,if they are not in the list they won`t work. The fix is to modify the bios.Sometimes a couple of pins on the wifi card can be taped over to make it work.

By the way TYPING IN CAPITAL LETTERS IS CONSIDERED AS SHOUTING,AND VERY RUDE

The wi-fi module may not work in some hp models if it's not the same chipset as the original, as SMDFlea stated, and quite well btw, that was exactly my initial tought.
