    Hp ase30 la-c482p no vcc_gt

    Dear all
    i have the above board
measuring all coils i have the correct volts except PLZ3
    If i disconnect pin2 i have 3.3v pin1
if i solder pin2 of coil the resistance of the PLZ3 is 6homs with 0v.
i suspect that there is something short on the output of coil.

what voltage can i inject on the coils and what amperage should i use in order to find what is heating up!

    Thanks

GFXCORE-max 0.7V you can inject but wont advise to do so. However, you can remove the gfxcore mosfet, coil and then inject 0.7V on the consumper side(the side going to cpu). If thats the only issue, board will boot. You can keep it at 1A

Finally i didn't inject voltage and i am trying to see where short is but
do you have any boardview for this board!

i noticed this trace of coil goes to NCP81208 pin 8 which has in diode mode 0.11v.
i checked the capacitors that is linked to pin8 look ok but it look like short is near cpu because is getting HOT.

      Thanks

PLZ3 at 6 ohms is perfectly fine and not shorted. The concept of reading short with low resistance has to be updated from to time with new gen SOC where even resistance of less then 2 ohms is not short. The steps you are taking may even kill the cpu unless you understand the risks well.

I have a similar problem, the +VCC_CORE voltage is not present.
I have tried replacing PUZ2 but it has not yielded results.
The voltage on the PUZ2 leg:
            1: 4.95 V
            2: 2.01 V
            3: 4.9 V
            4: 5.1 V
            5: 0
            6: GND
            7: 0
            8: 0
I measured it with the PQZ2 and PLZ2 positions removed

PQZ2 has also been replaced but still zero

What else should I do? I'm confused

              Hi people,

              Ideapad 130-15IKB
              LA-G202P
              CPU: i5 8250U

The laptop turns on without picture. All voltages are present except +VCCGT. Probably POST not starting because current stays around 300mA. I've checked resistance and voltages:

              PL602 - 28ohm - 1.0 VALWP - 1.04V present
              PL502 - 231ohm - 1.2VP - 1.2V
              PLA1 - 17ohm - VCCSA - 1.03V
              PLZ1 - 4ohm - VCCCORE - 0.84V
              PLZ2 - 4ohm - VCCCORE - 0.84V
              PLG1 - 7ohm - VCCGT - 0V

The VCCGT comes from PUG1 (RT9610CGQW). Signals are:
              EN-5V,
              ...

Surface Pro 4 - cycling VCC_CORE, no VCCGT
              by Prott
              Hello,
I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 (i5, 8 GB) that originaly had a swollen battery and was crashing during Windows install. I replaced the SSD with a new one (from another surface) that had OS installed. As a result of this the Windows booted, but few seconds after the start it went into "Locking" screen and turned off.

              Now the "fun" starts:

Upon removal of the motherboard from the case the fault changed:
              - When I start the tablet the VCCSA goes to 1.1 V for half a second and shuts off, followed by 1P2V_DUAL going to around...

HP Elitebook 255 G9 No OS inject win key
              by dr.thodt
              Hi,
Please notify me if this question is not appropriate.
I bought, totally on purpose a HP Elitebook 255 G9 with no OS. I do have a few Windows licence keys lying around and wanted to adventure a key into this bios.

              What I do know:
              A Windows licence follows this same sting of hex numbers in every bios: 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 1D 00 00 00
The dump of the HP 255 G9 does not have this string.
My guess is that Windows activation looks for named string and checks the licence key behind it. (please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm learning)....

HP RP7 RP7800 from 2012/2013 worst fault - has "character"
              by Rayblaster
Hello friends, I've got a nice toy to play with - it is an HP RP7800 All-in-one POS system. I got it for free and it has one problem - it turns on very rarely, and just for a few seconds. After that it dies and doesn't come on if I don't leave it unplugged for at least 2 hours. I've repaired motherboards before, this is not my first one, but problem with these types of faults is that everything you check on the board will usually be fine. This is the case for me here.

I dissassembled it completely, and got my hands on the motherboard. Model No. is PIQ67H/Higgins 11047-I 48.3GD02.011....

Lenovo Z710 main powerrail is short - how much volt/amps is safe to inject
              by Hw31
i guess its the main power rails, as it has widests vias. i tried injecting voltage 1v and 1-5a but nothing is getting hot. resistance to gnd is about 0.002 or something like that(will update later). as its the main powerrail, do i raise the voltage to 19v and then inject 1-5amps? thx
