flashing f43 bios via t48 programmer fixed the issue. so the cmos ic was ok. i cant say if the version f44 is faulty or if the hp bios recovery couldnt do its job properly as i didnt try to flash version f44 via t48. thx for your help!Leave a comment:

I replaced the main battery already. So my assumption that the bios version 44 is corrupt and flashing the bios with an older version via programmer may be right? I guess the bios ic itself could be faulty too but I red that that HP f'ed up bios versions for other models lately ......Leave a comment:

thx. unfortunatly bios downgrade doesnt seem to work. i gues my only option is to wait for a newer bios update or desolder the bios ic and flash the bios manualy....Leave a comment:

unfortunatly i couldnt find schematics for this board. what would a low resistance be? next to the cpu there are two inductors which where in the Mega Ohms. the rest of the unduxtors where around 30ohms and lower. i removed all mosfets from the board but the short was still present. soldered them back inLeave a comment:

theere is a cpu sockel and the cpu is and is removed(good old days). i have a thermal camera and also ipa. nothing is visible under the camera. i made a mistake in the OP. its 0.2ohms resistance to gnd.Leave a comment:

fujitsu Lifebook 5E14A2 - Help identifiing component
This laptop doesnt charge or turn on. no leds etc. i found that the x20ppd ic was burned and replaced it. VINT and ACK pads on the ic where shorted. Removed short on VINT by replacing another x20ppd which was on the other side of the board and which was also also shorted. fixed short on ACK by removing a component(E08 1 N) which was getting shorted. the laptop still doesnt turn on. i guess the removed component is needed can anyone tell me what component this is and what the value is? also there is a resistor right after the ACK pad. according to the pdf of x20ppd it should be 10k-200K ohms resistor....Last edited by Hw31; 12-15-2023, 12:47 AM. -
Lenovo Z710 main powerrail is short - how much volt/amps is safe to inject
i guess its the main power rails, as it has widests vias. i tried injecting voltage 1v and 1-5a but nothing is getting hot. resistance to gnd is about 0.002 or something like that(will update later). as its the main powerrail, do i raise the voltage to 19v and then inject 1-5amps? thx -
