    PS4 Not Reading Disks

Got a issue with my ps4 where it isnt reading disks, makes a whinny noise like it constantly accelerating and slowing down over and over again.

Anyhow i originally replaced the laser, no good.

Thought it might be maybe the motor in the drive so just replaced the entire laser deck.

Still no luck doing the same thing.

PS4 is the newer CUH-12xx model.

Any suggestion would be welcome, before i throw anymore money at it!

so you replaced the entire sled assembly & frame?
all that leaves is the pcb isnt it?
unless there is a problem with one of the rubber shock-mounts putting it at an angle.

Yes the metal frame and sled assembly, this

      https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-PS4-4...72.m2749.l2649

Mines the newer model drive that doesnt have a PCB. Could it be the PSU not supplying enough juice?

It does read and recognise disks to a certain stage, but when you try to play the game it give the unrecognised disk error.

could be bad power rails from worn caps i suppose.
but it's a bit new for that.

What solder blob? I assumed it was just a swap in and out?

Yea it is a bit new for that, watched a video and the guy was saying it's this

              https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-Sony-PS...72.m2749.l2649

That causes the issue. Another motor in it, might be it as the whining noise sound like a motor struggling.

If you still have this drive: make sure all the cables are reconnected to the drive (internally and externally). Otherwise, the drive revs up and down.

With regards to the solder blob: depends on when/whom you purchase them from. I've purchased lasers from 2-3 different eBay sellers, but sometimes they have it, sometimes they don't... can you post pics?

Hilti PD30 Laser Range meter Error 276
                    by Dannyx
Good day folks.....wow, seems like forever since I posted anything here Still alive and well, thank you I guess you could say I've become more independent and able to work stuff out on my own. This one though goes way over my head and I doubt is fixable, but maybe some bright spark out there has an equally bright idea.

So: my Hilti PD30 laser meter quit on me just the other day. It was working fine, I set it down for a while and when I tried using it again it gave me an E276 and wouldn't do anything else. I tried taking out the batteries, all that standard stuff but nothing...

Samsung HT-X250 Laser Fix Cd /DVD reading - call home position random error

Increase just little bit both trimmers for both laser diodes on the laser pickup, about 5-10%.
On the RC51 capacitor 22uf 25V that is near laser diodes transistors but has to do with the main processor,
connect in parallel a capacitor of 1000uf 10v and from their
positive a 1MOhm resistor to 5V stabilized system voltage line that is only on when the system is on.
This will fix the problem at about 95% to almost permanent.
The voltage on the capacitors positive point will...

                    PS5 HDMI port diode reading?
                    by SuperAman
I did an hdmi port repair for a PS5 and I lost the small diode z71 SOD923 on the back of the port. I did a trace repair for pin 19 of the port as well. Without the diode I get no display at all. I tried replacing the diode twice but after I get flux on it the marking comes off so I can't tell if I have it on the right orientation. When I measure I get a reading of 1(open) and 923 in diode mode. Is 923 a normal reading for these and also which side should the reading be with regards to the arrow on the board?...

Power DeWalt 12V laser measure from power supply
                    by dansity
                    Hello,
i got a Dewalt laser measure which uses the 12V batteries to operate. The laser measure is faulty and I want to attempt a repair, never fixed such thing before. You might see a different topic if I fail with the repair
However I do not have dewalt batteries nor want to buy one for 140EUR as the laser tool might have some chance that it is very hard to repair or unrepairable.
I want to power it from my PSU.
The tool has 3 input pins, on the battery it is marked with B-, B+ and ID/TH.
i want to know what is the third pin exactly and what do I need...

Pioneer PD-F1007 CD player not reading
                    by Xabi
Hi guys, I need some help with a CD player. It is a pioneer PD-F1007

The issue is that it doesn't play any disks. The disk gets loaded, spins up, but it doesn't actually plays. Just keeps spinning until I stop it.

If I put in the CD the wrong way, it will eject it quite quickly, so the unit at least understands that a CD is in and if it's in the correct orientation, tries to read it, but for some reason it can't.

I started with cleaning the lens to be sure, but ofc that didn't help. Also the laser is ligthing up at least, so it's not totally...
