    Laser Level Not Powering

    Hi guys,

Have a DeWalt Laser DW087 Level in.

    Came in not powering.
Right now I have it powering of powersupply but wont power from batteries, even tho I have the 6v at the end of the wires coming from battery.

When I solder the battery wires to board, 6v is there too, hit power switch and nothing.

Solder the wires from power supply, 6v there, hit power and all good.

Any ideas what the problems is and how do I solve it?

    Will attach pics now..

    Thanks,
    Liam

When you have the batteries connected to the board and then hit the power switch, is the Voltage still showing 6V or it drops down? The battery is also rated at 6V?

bad wires, bad battery, or bad contact if the battery is removeable.

Power DeWalt 12V laser measure from power supply
            by dansity
            Hello,
i got a Dewalt laser measure which uses the 12V batteries to operate. The laser measure is faulty and I want to attempt a repair, never fixed such thing before. You might see a different topic if I fail with the repair
However I do not have dewalt batteries nor want to buy one for 140EUR as the laser tool might have some chance that it is very hard to repair or unrepairable.
I want to power it from my PSU.
The tool has 3 input pins, on the battery it is marked with B-, B+ and ID/TH.
i want to know what is the third pin exactly and what do I need...

            Repair Success! Middle Atlantic UPS2200R-IP
            by valvashon
Yesterday I successfully repaired a Middle Atlantic UPS2200R-IP that had inadvertently been used as a surge suppressor at our transmitter site. It has already been replaced with an updated one but it's coming home with me now instead of being e-cycled. To be specific, this is the MA model that has the blue backlit display and has been discontinued, although this design may have been used in many UPS units including the smaller Middle Atlantic ones in this series.

Here's what happened: We experienced a brownout/surge at the site, which damaged the UPS and took our broadcasting...

Wire twisting tool for small wires - ideas ?
            by Dannyx
Good day folks. Recently, I started doing more and more alarm system installs which involve dealing with a ton of small wires which are part of 4 to 12 core alarm cable. To make my installs as clean and neat as possible, I twist together the individual wires whenever possible to make braids like in the picture. It takes a lot of time and wears on my fingers really quickly, to the point where I actually developed a blister on my index finger from all the twisting. This got me thinking if there's a tool designed to braid small wires like this. I know there is something for twisting together solid...

LG 55UH6150- trouble powering up, then half lit screen (pictures!)
            by valvashon
The 55" LG has been in the basement for a few months without being used. Turned it on yesterday, set came on as it should and showed a complete screen for about 5 seconds (was on a broadcast channel but no antenna was connected), then the screen went mostly dark with about 1/3 of the screen on the right lighting up with brighter lines in that lit part (sorry, no pictures of that). Power LED was cycling too, preventing the TV from fully powering up.
Pulled the back off, all boards looked OK. Pulled the LED connector, turned the set on to see if it would power up but I don't belive it...

I would like an explanation of how a laser can measure a product on a conveyor belt
            by sam_sam_sam
            I saw this on

“How do they do it “

The laser was measuring the diameter and the height of the product and the weight of the product and it was a straight line laser light across the the conveyor belt ( this is all that was shown in the video clip of the laser that was used )

What type of product is this that can do this

I want to thank anyone that knows what of laser this is
