    Wired Xbox 360 Controller

    Cable on my controller was being a pain and had to be twisted or moved to get it to work, so decided to remove the wire and solder directly all went well, until i forgot to tape up the shielding of the cable.

    Put it back together and now have a controller what lights up but isn't picked up by windows, theres one visible blown part but I can' make out the whole of the part number.

    Anyone able to or from this image?

    you are a week late!
    just had one apart to replace a switch.
    wi? most are digital transistors.

      i'm not too sure but the rest of them on the controller are WV3 66 which I can't find much info on other than it maybe a SOT-23 I think anyway

      or not seems the rest are all Dx labelled whereas this is Q8

        It looks like the number starts with W1 to me.

                That's about as close as I have gotten too at other sites. Not definitive but things point to a PNP wide band RF transistor.

                    Is that glue or solder smeared on the Q8 pins and to the left of the chip? If solder you may have a short there between pin 2 and 3 through those honeycomb copper planes.

                      it's solder, was already damaged before the solder got there, me trying to remove it earlier and left some there.
