What resistor ohm will work better to repair this waterpik?

The resistor on this waterpik blew. I changed it with the a similar spec 47ohm 2 watt yageo resistor but it still keeps blowing the resistor. Checking with the multimeter the motor, capacitor, diodes, and thermal fuse all checked normal. Will a higher ohm resistor work better? What ohm resistor will work better to repair this waterpik? This video is showing the repair with a 56 ohm resistor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_J7_rV7ui1Y

take a wire off the motor then it wont burn .the copper on the board is already burning .

Something strange is the blackened PCB trace only runs to the filter cap, not to the motor.

Don't these pumps get dead-headed and I'm not sure if a pressure relief valve is there or the resistor is supposed to limit pressure?
edit: oh this thing runs on mains

Did not know you were on these other forums also. Is this a crime?

Your resistor question goes back 7 months ago.
What's the problem - many people have helped you and told what resistor to use, things to check for.

Yes it's a crime - you post more information, pics on other forums which makes it hard for us to help you here. Expecting many to help you for free on these forums, you already have your questions answered- why waste our time?

How much do you charge? Im not forcing you to help out or to reply to my post, why derail my post?. Ive changed the resistor to the same specs of 47ohm 2w and the resistor still blows. The video i linked showed using a 56ohm resistor instead to help with any extra resistance from any wear on the device but I wanted to know what the people of this forum would suggest instead before buying what i need from digikey.

did you cut the motor wire yet and then seen if that fuse resistor still burns ? this cant get any easier . its not like its even close to 1st of april .

Stop blaming the resistor - it is not the problem. They don't burn up unless they are overloaded. This one has a safety aspect- it must be a fusible type so this does not burn down the house.

It (high current draw) could be a problem with the motor, its brushes. Another site you posted on gave links to buy a new one for $10.
Or the pump mechanism needs lube or has dirt in it. Look for a mechanical problem. Buy a 24 pack of these resistors.

An update on this, i sold this waterpik for parts so its one less worry on trying to fix. Thank you all for the help.

What wire are you suggesting desoldering to test if the resistor still burns or not?

one going to the motor not that it matters if you did sell it
