    Pioneer Laseractive CLD-A100

The disc spindle motor will not spin on this unit. The motor has 2.5v on both sides and does not change.

I have a second unit that works 100% that needed a recap. I tried the PSU before and after the recap. No change. I swapped the video board that has all of the ICs on it and it still wont spin. I injected 2.5v into CN2 (the motor connector) and the motor spun.

The pickup assembly moves back and forth. The laser appears to light up, although it doesn't look like any newer laser diode with a well defined dot in the center. I can see red light refracting off the lens and then goes away after a few seconds.

Is there some sensor im missing that tells the unit to start the motor? There are 2 sensors on page SCH-3 but I though they were just for the carriage motor. One looks like a photodiode assembly and another is the park switches.

    Thanks for any help

    EDIT:

I've been looking over the schematics and found some more info in the service manual. It says IC201 pin 52 is the "Spindle motor ON/OFF control signal output pin ON(RUN):H OFF(STOP):L"

The RUN line connects to PIN11 of IC606 (Spindle Servo IC). Pin11 is 0.01v. What signals do I need for this to turn on?

I dunno if anyone can help but heres some more info

First number = PIN#, Second is value from working unit, Third is broken unit. If the third number has multiple values it is initial reading, tray open, tray closed. If theres no second number then the values were the same.

IC201 was in a 64 pin eeprom holder so it was easy to swap. No change. Swapped laser as well. No change.

      Re: Pioneer Laseractive CLD-A100

Does the spindle motor try to move at all? The spindle motor has a FG, check if you have a signal pulse coming from the PD line J46, pin6 if you spin the motor manually
Have you compared the park switch logic and the loading motor switch logic between the two units? switches can give problems, and the software thinks some mechanism is in the wrong position to start the motor.

Pioneer PL-X9 motor speed control wobble
        by Bushcat
I'm starting to re-cap a Pioneer PL-X9 turntable, specifically the motor control board, because although everything tests out OK according to the service manual, the speed wavers slightly despite the quartz lock light remaining on. So, I've decided to re-cap that board since it's the cheapest next step...

Pioneer's passive component naming convention is clear to me. For example, CSZA R22M 35 is tantalum, radial leads, 0.22uF, 20%, 35V.

BUT there are two capacitors on the board which have actual Pioneer part numbers: PCL-042. I can tell they are 0.1uF, 16V but don't...

Requesting Help For GA-970A-DS3 rev. 1.0, No Post code, no RSMRST# signal
        by AstutePauciloquent
Hi everyone, over the past few months i have taken a deep dive into motherboard diagnostics and I love the challenge. Currently im trying to learn all about the signals that travel around the motherboard, such as frequencies, enable signals High and Low logic states etc. And i have been learning to read and using the Schematics for this board that i requested here on Badcaps forum, from a few months ago, this is such a great place for these.

I’ve been working on a GA-970A-DS3 (rev. 1.0) that does not post. This motherboard has been my main learning board. I would like share...

Vizio M65Q7-H1 Red Vertical Strips fixed by tape blocking LC1 signal to half of the panel
        by howardc64
        Failure Symptom

No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

        Where is the short?

Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

Having recently fixed another Vizio with similar symptoms that was a shorted ESD diode array ( link ) Probed the ESD diode array but...

Nescafe Aeroccino, still fails with new Motor (red flashes only once)
        by juergenb
        Hi,

i am asking for some Help.
I have one of these Nescafe Aeroccino (Milk Frother) things with a bad motor.
The Motor didn“t start anymore and internet is full of users just swapping the motor for a Mabuchi RF-500TB-12560.
So i got a few of these from Banggood.

I swapped the motor and now i have a new fault condition.

In a working Frother you would press the start button, it will light red and work for a few minutes.
If you press longer it will light blue and just mixup the milk.

With the new Motor it just starts...

charnwood w821 mini wood lathe motor problem
        by sbt123
hi there,im having a look at repairing a wood lathe for my dad,(charnwood w821)the problem is when turning up the variable speed control, the motor starts to stop and start by itself,if i continue to turn up the speed it will trip the mcb in the consumer unit, there is also a slight smell of burning from the speed controll box.,Another strange symptom is the lathe can be unplugged from the mains after switching it off and the motor will spin a couple of times by itself,so far ive put a new speed controll potentiometer on and new motor brushes, ive also tested the motor windings and everything looks...
