    Xbox one Controller No Power

Hello I have an xbox 1 controller 1708 that has no power and upon diagnosis there are major shorts around the ARM X905893 002 BGA chip. My first time working on this device. can this chip be replaced or is it paired to the board?

    Thanks MJ

I've mixed top boards with bottom ones so no, not paired.
Definitely a short and not low resistance ?

you maybe correct, when I connect the top board with the joy sticks to the main board, the two circled IC chips get extremely hot, the one on the left is worse than the right one. I check for shorts and find shorts on the large caps. When I remove the top board the shorts are gone and I have voltage on those chips.

On the top board with the joy sticks I have short to gnd on the caps and resistors circled. I do not have a good board to check if those components are low resistance or shorts.

        Hey MJ,

Just wanted to drop a quick thank you for posting about your Xbox 1 controller issue way back when. Even though it's an old thread, it's been incredibly helpful in troubleshooting my own controller woes.

Your detailed descriptions of the problem and the steps you took in diagnosing the issues provided excellent guidance. It's great to know that the ARM X905893 002 BGA chip can be replaced and isn't paired to the board.

Your work on this issue has undoubtedly helped many others like myself who've stumbled upon this post in search of solutions. So, a big thank you for sharing your knowledge with the community!

        Best regards.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
          by PantherDave
          Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

          Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue

          Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Tankless hot water heater controller board not powering up when power is applied
          by sam_sam_sam
I recently bought a used tankless hot water heater and the controller board is completely dead no power up when power is applied the display board works however the main controller board does not work correctly at all the fuse is good

I bought a used replacement controller board that also had issues that I was able to fix and now the tankless water heater works correctly now

However I would like to know if I could figure what happened to this controller board if possible

Tomorrow I will take some better pictures of both side of both boards

          The...

Power supply Manson NTP-5561 (5661) LCD controller dead - PIC18F87K90 HEX dump required
          by Andreas_de
          Hello!

i got a damaged Manson NTP-5561 (60V, 1,6A DC output) and and the main issue is that the controler IC for the LCD display has a short. The controler IC PIC18F87K90 is mounted on the back of the back of the LCD. Vss-Vdd = 3 Ohm. The 5V and 3,3V power line was killed as well, but that is not a problem. A new LDO 3,3V and 5V 7805 is already ordered.
Replacing the PIC18F87K90 is necessary but that makes no sense without having the HEX dump of the new controler.

Does anybody have such a power supply and could do a HEX dump of the Flash and EEPROM memory?
