Re: Xbox one Controller No Power
you maybe correct, when I connect the top board with the joy sticks to the main board, the two circled IC chips get extremely hot, the one on the left is worse than the right one. I check for shorts and find shorts on the large caps. When I remove the top board the shorts are gone and I have voltage on those chips.
On the top board with the joy sticks I have short to gnd on the caps and resistors circled. I do not have a good board to check if those components are low resistance or shorts....

Xbox one Controller No Power
Hello I have an xbox 1 controller 1708 that has no power and upon diagnosis there are major shorts around the ARM X905893 002 BGA chip. My first time working on this device. can this chip be replaced or is it paired to the board?
Thanks MJ

PS5 missing voltage after South Bridge Replacement
I have a PS5 that had a shorted south bridge and 3.3V rail off fuse F7002. I replaced both of the components and I am only getting about a 150 ma draw upon powering (plugging in the board to the power supply). This should be around 300 ma. I cannot find any shortages anywhere.
I checked for voltages around the south bridge and seem to be missing 3.3v and 1.8v. where I am supposed to get 1.8V I have no measurements, the 3.3V in one section is measuring 0.5 and the other is 0.965V. These voltages are in standby mode and not powered on, see photos attached. I was wondering whether those...Last edited by mike123333; 04-01-2023, 02:47 PM.

Re: STP6005 Power Supply
Would this fuse be located on the primary or secondary side or both? Also is shouldn't this show up with metering the windings and if there is an open on the ohms reading then that would indicate that there is a break?...

Re: STP6005 Power Supply
Would this fuse be located deep inside the transformer or just below the plastic wrapping ?

Re: STP6005 Power Supply
Thanks for the information, but why would the mosfets blow if a fuse has blown in the transformer? the fuse you mention would that be part of the windings, I do not have any open windings or shorts from primary to secondary....

Re: STP6005 Power Supply
I checked this chip out for shorts and could not detect anything....

Re: STP6005 Power Supply
what I find hard to believe is the amount of failures on this unit with little to no usage.

Re: STP6005 Power Supply
I could not find anything wrong, as I researched this power supply further, I found that this is a common failure to this device, some people reported right out of the box blowing the main fuse. Apparently this is appears to be a design flaw, I am unsure how it worked several times then blew.
I wish there was a way to correct the design flaw and get this working instead of sending it to the landfill.
any ideas?

Re: STP6005 Power Supply
I sketched out a rough schematic, these go to the red transformer, the drains are tied together to another transformer....

Re: STP6005 Power Supply
One Mosfet is shorted gate to drain and the other is shorted gate to drain and source.
Would the likely area be in the hot side or could the cold side cause an overload. the optocoupler does not seem to be shorted at all.

STP6005 Power Supply
I have a power supply that has not been used much, several months ago I went to use it and as I was setting up the voltage and amperage I heard a loud pop and the unit turned off. The main fuse was blown. I replaced the fuse and it turned on but was unable to set voltage or amperage, they both stayed at 0.
upon inspection I found the 2 Mosfets blown along with 2 resistors. The mosfets are PTA09N50 and a 68 and 10k resistors.
I replaced the components and turned it on, there was no blown parts but the voltage only went up to 2.2V, I turned the unit off and after a while...Last edited by mike123333; 03-04-2023, 10:05 PM.

Re: PS5 Power Supply Component ID
Thanks for the response, so your saying to remove a good working component from the circuit and then tie it to a resistor and then push voltage across it until the maximum is reached?...

Re: PS5 Power Supply Component ID
thanks for the responses. after further testing I found that ZD35, ZD132 and C147 components are either blown or shorted, any idea what these components identification is?
I want to try to repair it if possible....Last edited by mike123333; 01-28-2023, 06:57 AM.

PS5 Power Supply Component ID
Hello everyone. I have a PS5 power supply that I need to identify what Q32 is ( thsi goes to pin 2 of IC51) and where I can get one from.
I know the photocoupler is blown and DAP053T is shorted which I can get the parts for those components.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: SAMSUNG UN37EH5000FXZA No BL or Pic
I have spent sometime time trying to troubleshoot this issue to no availability. I managed to locate a service manual but that was not much of a help as it was not detailed, I am not sure if there is a detailed SM. I am unable to trace back the backlight connections on the board. Any ideas where I can focus, this is not a cut and dry troubleshooting without a schematic to follow.
Thanks,
MJ...Last edited by mike123333; 12-08-2018, 11:18 PM.

Re: SAMSUNG UN37EH5000FXZA No BL or Pic
Thanks BUDM
I will give it a try, I do have an oscilloscope where necessary, the only question I have is why when I heat up the board the TV functions? I could purchase a main board but I want to learn more before I throw in the towel.

Re: SAMSUNG UN37EH5000FXZA No BL or Pic
Got it figured on the voltages:
Pin Off , On
1 B13V 0V , 12.94V
2. PW_DIM 0V , 0.089V
3. B13V 0V , 12.94V
4. B13V 0V , 12.94V
5. Vamp 0V , 12.94V
6. BLU_0n/off 0V , 0.062V
7. Vamp 0V , 12.94V
8. GND 0V , 0.015V
9. GND 0V , 0V
10. GND 0V , 0.015V
11. B5V 0V , 5.23V...Last edited by mike123333; 12-07-2018, 12:11 AM.

Re: SAMSUNG UN37EH5000FXZA No BL or Pic
The voltages from top to bottom are Zero with no power and the red led is on.
with power the voltages are as folows:
12.9
12.9
12.9
12.9
gnd
5.2
5.2
when the cable is disconnected between pSU an main board the back light comes on and stay on as long as the TV is plugged in.
I do not feel any hot ICs that trigger any shorts....
