I got an Xbox One S in and the complaint was that it takes a long time to get to the profile screen. I removed the hard drive and it actually didn't even register on my Windows machine. I just assumed the drive was having issues, so I replaced it and did the offline OS install. Unfortunately, looks like I missed the mark because it takes 54 seconds to boot. How long should it take?

OK, I'll check the sata cable. Not sure what you mean about the PSU though. I'm new to console repair, apart from replacing HDMI ports and Nintendo Switch USB-C ports. Wonder why I couldn't detect the other drive.Comment

for starting out and quick looks at stuff, i am addicted to this!
it's second to my multimeter because it's so compact.

there is a larger 2 channel version for about £18 moreComment

XBox ones are only Sata 2 speeds, maybe try a new sata cable and SSD if you have one lying around.--------------------------------------------------------------

I bailed on it. I didn't have any more time to invest into it. New HDD didn't fix it, neither did PSU. Maybe it had board issues, who knows.Comment

Noted for next time. I didn't test the cables, they looked to be in very good condition. This machine had never been opened.Comment

by RotsingerSo the 16v 1500uF capacitor C9B1 near the power connector on the back of a Phat started leaking. Haven't been able to find the right cap, so I replaced it with a larger 25v 2200uF capacitor a couple weeks ago and everything is working fine since then. I didn't replace the other six 16v caps, they were all good.
When putting the fan plastic cover back I remember there were maybe 2-3 mm of clearance on top of it and 1-2 mm of clearance to the side of it.
For those that don't remember what the fan cover looks like I found this picture https://cdn.quade.co/wp-content/uploads/2... -
by Unspun01XBOX One original, not XBOX One S. Has problems turning on.
Power supply is good. Touch panel is good. Both work in another xbox.
HDMI and USB ports are fine.
The last time this XBOX turned on, it had an ERROR 102 so I know it can turn on, and I know it may have a hard drive issue. But the power issue is driving me nuts.
When power supply is plugged into xbox, there is no response from the XBOX. Cannot power on, or eject. No lights. no sounds, not even a fan twitch. Power supply LED remains orange.
Voltages are measured all over...03-24-2020, 01:19 PM - Loading...
