MSI WindTop AE2420 AIO No signal after BIOS Flash

    Hi there,
    I'm facing following problem:
    - Accidently flashed BIOS and EC FW of the "3D" Version (No warning message or anything from MSI's flash tool!)
    - Device was fully bricked after, not coming on at all
    - Flashed correct BIOS bin via China BIOS Flasher from another computer
    - PC comes on again, but shows no signal on the internal screen. If I connect an external via VGA, it's fully working.

    What I've tried so far:
    - Flashing every EC FW and BIOS I could find from MSI support with the MSI DOS flashing tools
    - Connecting the internal Display directly to the mainboard without the display controller board.
    - Everything in Windows with multiple drivers, but the internal display never appears as an option (Screen 1 is always the external)
    - Reflowing GPU

My suspicion is, that the I overwrote some responsible area on the BIOS chip with the Chinaflasher, which otherwise stays untouched by the MSI DOS tool.

Any ideas, suggestions or Working dump file for this device I could try? Thank you in advance!

There are 2 different bios versions depending on the GPU ram size https://www.msi.com/All-in-One-PC/su...ind-Top-AE2420

    V4.xx for Madison-XT GPU+1GB

    V6.xx for Madison-XT GPU+512MB

    Use an SPI programmer .

      Hi,
      that's what I did - I have the 1GB Version, V4.00.
After flashing with the SPI programmer, the computer itself works, just the internal screen stays black, saying "no signal". If I connect an external screen, all works fine.

That's why I thought, the first, wrong BIOS flash killed something else, what's responsible for the embedded screen.

Help Disabling Flash Protection Range Registers on Lenovo P360 Tiny BIOS
        by abhorsen
        Hey guys,

Hope you all are doing well. I come here from Win-Raid because I am having issues disabling Flash Protection Range Registers so I can flash my BIOS from within Windows using Intel's IFW tool/using flashrom within Linux, however I cannot due to the above mentioned error.

Here is my thread on Win-Raid detailing the whole process I went through: https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/re...h-gen/95478/27

Essentially I managed to boot into Windows while shorting PINs 1+5 of my audio chip to disable the HAP bit...

Panasonic CF-20G0247VM BIOS Bad Flash Help
        by James Jackson
I usually try to figure these things out on my own but am asking for help now as I have been beating my head against a wall.

Backstory, I initially ended up with a CF20 Mk2 with a locked BIOS. I used aptio to read the BIOS and made the adjustments to the .rom file and attempted to write it back with aptio before reading other users problems with that setup. Well it bricked the BIOS go figure. Computer no longer boots, black screen. I found a clean BIOS on this forum but now I am having ME issues. So I would rather hand over the aptio dump(pre BIOS brick) and a hardware reader dump(post...

        ASUS GL702V Bios flash
        by garretofriviaaaaa
Hello all, so basically I have a bricked GL702V with no power except a single LED flash on the power button when it is pressed. Customer had tried to flash his bios with a USB and the GL702VM310 version of this laptop's bios. I've been scouring the web for a correct version of his bios but all the ones on the ASUS website are for GL702VM, GL702VT, GL702VS, or GL702VI with versions varying from 300-310. This specific laptop has nothing other than just the GL702V so I don't know which bios is compatible with it. I was planning on programming it with the CH341A programmer as soon as I found the correct...

ASRock N100M, no picture no boot, but semi-alive
        by Exim
        Hi guys,
I managed to semi-kill an ASRock N100M board after updating Bios from 1.10 to 2.01. It's a zombie now, dead, but not dead.

        ASRock N100M special features:
        - CPU soldered to board, small Intel 12th gen
        - iGPU
        - four POST LEDs

Problem after updating Bios to 2.01 using the in-Bios update tool: no picture, no boot.
I am not sure anymore if it booted at least once successfully after updating the bios to 2.01, maybe not, I can't remember. I think it did not.

        Symptoms:
        - no picture/signal on any of the display connectors,...

If I flash this bios file, will it just work, or does it need the ME cleaning?
        by survivalbloke
I'm not a super pro like some here, when it comes to firmware. I have a machine with the following specs:
        ENVY X360
        15-ew0013dx
        SN: CND2261KS3
        Prod: 698V0UA
        Board: LA-M021P Rev 1A
        Chip# Winbond 25R128JVSN

Basically, when I power it up, I get no video, and the fans run hard - nothing else. Seems like a BIOS issue to me, so I posted a request in the BIOS request section. I haven't heard anything back(and that's fine) So I tried downloading the BIOS from HP, then I extracted it and flashed it onto the chip. Unfortunately, all I get is the power...
