Trying to find 3v and 5v regulators without schematics... Could it be this IC?

I have a board that is missing 3v and 5v standby power. I also have a working board to compare. Board is AMPKB-CT which is from an HP all-in-one, but is basically like a laptop board I think. No schematics to be found.

I have googled every IC part number I can find and none of them are 3v or 5v regulators.

There are a few 20 pin ICs that could be it, but I am not sure. They are grouped together with a coil, cap, and mosfets, so it looks like they may be regulators. See attached picture.

"7A FD" is what is inscribed. On the other board says it says "7A FC" so I think the "FC" and "FD" are not part of the partnumber.

generally 3.3 and 5 volt is a 24 pin 6x4 and is near 2 little inductor. post whole board picture.

I think you have correct track, its regulator DC/DC for 3.3v/5v

        Perfect!

What was your process to locate this part online? Or did you just know already?

No, I didn't know, from what dellxps15 mention above.

            Thanks for the good info.

I found 19v VIN on this chip on the good board. No VIN or EN on the bad board.

Without schematics I am kind of lost, but I will try to track down why VIN is missing. I can see 19v on other parts of the bad board. Any idea?

              I figured it out.

RT8243 was short to ground on VIN pin and a 2.2ohm resistor next to it was open. Replaced both with parts from the good board and it works.

              Thanks again.

Yes you are right also I think 8a also is 8243a regulator for 3.3 , 5

Looks like a common problem. Thanks to this thread i found standby voltages went to zero but in my case short circuit is in one rail and Vin got cut (looks from a burn fuse or some copper got kaput). Can be anything downstream and i don't have a thermal camera.

I forgot to mention I desoldered the 3.3v inductor and jumped Vin from the power brick connector to Vin in RT8243 and got 5 and 3.3v standby voltages.
My only problem now is 3.3v rail shorted to grownd :v

ThinkPad W530 - faulty CPU regulators?
                          by yuii
                          Hello
I've got two W530 boards, one with K1000M and one with K2000M graphics card. The first one had an issue of turning off under heavy CPU load after about 30 minutes or in idle. GPU load wasn't causing it to shut down. Trying to turn it back on would only make the power LED to come up for about 2 seconds without fan spin or thinklight flash, and that's it. It also wasn't charging the battery after it died.
Gently pressing the laptop in left upper corner would fix this problem for a couple of days.
The latter is completely dead and has the same 2-second power blink, nevermind...

Where to find a very small fpc connector 0.3mm between 2 pins ?
                          by corrize
Hello, I search this connector (oxydated).
It's a fpc zif low profile connector. It come from camera sensor, it is very small : 0.3mm between 2 pins.
I ordered 2 from Aliexpress called « 0.3mm pitch » but one was 0.5mm between 2 pins and the other 0.6mm. In fact « 0.3mm pitch » seams to be the pad width and not the distance between 2 pins.
I can't find it. The other websites like mouser dont show the datasheet, and I can't check if it is 0.3mm between 2 pins ?

Do you know how to find this connector please ? What is the exact name for find it ?

Sentey ATX PSU - ERP650-PS - Trying to find out the right Standby IC
                          by temyth
Greetings! I have this ERP650-PS atx power supply, it is a relatively simple psu, the primary has a driver IC that controls the two main mosfets (two 20n60S5), together with a Classic Standby circuit with a PWM IC (not a FET like the VIper22A) , relatively similar to the SDC606P.

The whole point is that I got this power supply years ago when I had no knowledge, apparently the PWM IC was burned because someone turned the power supply on with the switch at 110v in a 220v network (classic error). Important detail: the power supply at the time came without the primary capacitors.
