    R9 390 8Gb - Broken Transistor and missing components?

    Hi guys
I have a R9 390 here. The owner sent it to me with a smd 1AM transistor (one leg broken off) taped to the heatsink

He says he bought this used as 'working' on ebay, put it on one side for about a year (never tested it) and when he came to use it, it does not work

He then spotted the broken transistor in the bottom of the box

At this time it was much too late to return it

He sent me some pics where he says the transistor comes from (not sure how he knows for sure).

Under the microscope it does look like some transistor pads are missing here, but it also looks lie a couple other parts may have been desoldered. Does anyone know what parts should be here?

    See pics

    Cheers

Re: R9 390 8Gb - Broken Transistor and missing components?

I'm trying to identify these broken or missing parts

It appears that the pads have been ripped off the board where the '1AM 2' transistor supposedly came from. The actual transistor has one leg broken off

If I have the correct datasheet then this is an NPN SOT23 transistor and the middle leg is the collector
    https://pdf1.alldatasheet.es/datashe...ICTEK/1AM.html

That pad goes to one of the missing components and the other end of this connects to ground. So I assume that must be a capacitor as I don't see any point to connect the collector of an NPN transistor to ground via a resistor. I also assume the collector pad connects somewhere else as well

There appears to be a 5 pin device missing but the pad layout does not look correct for a SOT23-5 device. I can see there is another 'missing' component also connecting from one of the 5 pins to ground - this actually looks to be a broken off component. The other end also goes to ground so I am guessing capacitor

One of the pins of this 5 pin device goes to the base of the missing '1AM 2' via a 10K resistor and this forms a voltage divider by the looks of it with another 10K resistor but I am not sure where the other end of that one goes

See pic - it will explain this much clearer.

It seems to me if I could know what the 5 pin device is, the datasheet would probably help and I could reconstruct this circuit using a couple of capacitors plus the 1AM 2

I'm trying my best to help myself here - but can anyone give me a hand with this?

    Much appreciated
    Richard

Guys - I've tried to work out as best as I can what the missing parts are

If anyone has 20 mins to spare could you please check this video out and hopefully advise me on the possibilities to repair this?

        Xfx RX470 - Missing components
        by Artakozu
Hi, I'm new to this forum.
I recently bought a damaged XFX RX470 for around $10-12 USD. As you can probably see, I believe the only issue is some missing components, likely due to a scratch or a fall.
Can anyone help me confirm which components are missing, and specifically, tell me the value of capacitor C502?...

DJI Mini Pro 3 missing components near camera connector
        by summerwhite
I have a DJI drone that is not displaying a video feed anymore after a repair.

When tearing down the DJI drone to fix the armature there was some hot glue next to the camera connector that i had to remove.

Now there are missing components either because they got pulled off or because they where never placed.

I have two reference images from XXZ and a photo of mine.

I'm truely hoping someone has another DJI Mini Pro 3 that they can help me identify what these components are and if they are necessary.

On the board view from XXZ they...

        HP 15-cs3055wm - DAG7BLMB8DQ REV:D - Missing Components - Fan Error
        by grimacelord
        Hello,

I have an HP laptop here (model and board model in title) that powers on with an error message about the fan not working properly and needs to shutdown. The thing is, the fan is spinning just fine. I disregarded the message and continued to boot into Windows and loaded up OCCT to look at temperatures and the OCCT was reporting that the CPU was very hot (98C) and climbing, so I shutdown the computer, did a CMOS reset and checked then thermal paste and heatsink for dust build-up. Paste looked good, but I cleaned it off and applied fresh paste anyway and blew out the fan from...

        MSI 1660S Ventus missing components
        by Caspar
Hi all, I accidently knocked off some components on a MSI 1660S Ventus while trying to remove the heatsink to repaste the GPU. The missing components are located on the top left corner of the GPU. Does anyone happen to know what the values of the components are? I circled the missing components in the provided picture. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

        Thank you!

PS If there's a boardview, that would help as well!...

Delta Electronics ADP-230JB D missing components - help please
        by Flash993
        Hey everyone,

So I was trying to troubleshoot my Power Supply (look at the title for brand and model) for my laptop and mistakenly stabbed some components off. I have tried searching for a schematic/diagram but I could not find any at all. If someone has one please post it. I will add a picture of the components missing if someone with a bigger brain or the power supply PCB pictures wants to help me out. Thank you for your time reading my post for help.
