    Ecs K7s5a

I just pulled this out of my router/server, a just which it did faithfully for approximately 25000 hours. It never actually showed any symptoms, I just happened to notice when I did a air blowout a couple caps were 'well done'.
Ill keep it as a backup board. I used this board with a Duron 1800. Not mindblowingly fast, but not a whole lot of power is needed to run iptables...

Im doing all caps 470uf and up with Samxon GC and GDs..

I had two K7S5A boards. both blew the caps within about 6 months of me getting them. I've been turned off ECS ever since.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Great boards let down by bad caps. If you fit the Athlon MP2600 it's quite a quick board.
I've recapped one and it works great.

I have that that exact same K7S5A revision as you with the same caps (I think they aere G-Luxon) that I gave to somebody in a build.

So far they haven't complained I warned them that one day the caps would fail and would need to be replaced, but it has since lasted till today.

One thing I read about the board, notice when you boot it up it takes an oddly long amount of time to POST. When you change the caps to good ones, this problem goes away.

part of the reason that they some times take a long time to post is because of the way that it reads the ram. some go by reading by the KB and others by the MB. do you have it on quick boot, if not that will delay it too.

Never did get the Samxons, but I did pad one of my orders for the Biostar with caps for this one. Got a bunch of nichicons on the way.
