Re: Software to analyze Video RAM faults on graphics cards?
i use occt to test the overclock of the vram of my video card. occt has a gpu memtest function but it requires a cuda-capable gpu and only works on nvidia gpus. so the gpu also has to be a dx10 compatible gpu or later. it wont work on dx9 gpus or earlier since they arent cuda capable.Leave a comment:

Software to analyze Video RAM faults on graphics cards?
Not so much test hardware but test software, but this seems the correct section to post the question
What can I use to test the VRAM chips on a graphics card?
In particular does anyone know what this test software is (at 9 mins 35 secs)? I think that is linux based, which is cool as I can boot ubuntu or similar from USB

Also can someone explain how a GPU can still generate an image on screen with all the Video RAM removed? See same video from 5 mins 30 secs.Tags: None- Stuck

by HakuuHi There,
This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.
After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

Got the same exact TCON board from TVPartsToday and replaced it. But didnt transfer the EPPROM data (didnt... -
by sam_sam_samThis is from my son’s gaming computer that at first had minor overheating issues when playing a very intense game with it causing the computer to crash or reboot
Then bough a new motherboard and a new computer case that a cooling system in it already installed also brought the cooling system for this video card but now the issue with it is that it randomly rebooted screen goes blank randomly and suddenly video freezing or started with video being there then blank screen and then the video comes back or it just stays blank for a while and then maybe it will come back but it... -
by chth96Hello
I have power adaptor(220V/input, 12V 1.2A/output) which has symptom of fluctuating output DC voltage between 11.5V-12.2V.
So I opened its plastic case and when switched it on, I heard constant tik tik sound from inside its PCB.
I measured DC voltage between negative and positive pin of the largest capacitor(400v 10uf) and it was measured contant 300V.
I also measured ESR value of all capacitors and I noticed that one of capacitor(KMG 16v 470uf), which located in the secondary side, have high ESR value(10 ohm),So I replaced it with same specification NXH capacitor.... -
by japlyticOn this motherboard with a CPU (requiring discrete graphics) supported by the BIOS (version F3) and a new video card, it has a beep code indicating a CPU failure while the onboard diagnostic LEDs indicate a video system failure and using a different motherboard of the same model had the same result despite confiriming that the new video card along with the power supply as well as the connected display/cable was operational in another system.
So therefore, I've found that the Video diagnostic LED illuminated before CPU diagnostics were performed and since the CPU has failed, video diagnostics...12-30-2022, 11:12 PM -
by myth77I am having a big problem in how to recognize gpu fault or vram fault on laptops or desktops when picture is partially broken or with artifacts or....Sure, i measure resistance and trying to conclude what is a bad part but it is very time consuming so i emaganed this thread for the people to share pictures of repaired video cards... what was the bad picture before? and when they repaired it, was it a vram fault or gpu chip fault...I think that it would help other members a lot (sure would help to me).
I have found only a few threads on the internet (but very old) that are describing what... - Loading...
