Just curious, you're on a tight budget, and you need a motherboard. Your only mobo's in your price range all have badcaps, which brand of badcaps should you shoot for if you absolutely had to buy one?

Have you been sniffin' the thermal paste remover again?
How is one to answer such a question?
First it would depend on what was there to choose from.
Second I wouldn't be leaving the bad caps. It would be getting recapped.
Third it would depend on how old (vintage) the boards are.
AND, It would depend on where on the board the craps are and which craps are where on the board. (What is in Vcore and what is scattered caps.)
I can tell you what I'd skip past first:
ANY that have even one bloated cap.
Then: GSC, JPce-xxx, Gloria, Su'scon, Stone, Choyo, Chhsi, Hermei.

good solution there!
hehe...
i recently bought new gigabyte(for customer) with i9x5(or 6 chipset...these still support dual core) and it's so damn chaeap and has solid caps around vrm and quality caps on other places, so i don't even need to think about buying something with classic lytics on critical places...
it's so cheap i was ashamed to buy it!
<wink>
it was this

Re: Best of the Worst?
choyo- i have an old Gigabyte 5ax (socket 7) covered in them, none failed
teapo as well- get by until i saved 30 bucks for fresh rubys form topcat
better yet, buy a nice used one with good caps, or save up
and dont buy soyo- everything including the caps is bad quality
and i would use a speedboat to avoid gators- they would be killed if they crossed my pathsigpic

by deep000Hi,
I'm looking to get on Aliexpress a hot air soldering station for hobby use, nothing too fancy, just something "reliable" and budget-friendly.
Any recommendations for a "good" cheap one that gets the job done?
Thanks in advance -

by RayblasterHello friends, I've got a nice toy to play with - it is an HP RP7800 All-in-one POS system. I got it for free and it has one problem - it turns on very rarely, and just for a few seconds. After that it dies and doesn't come on if I don't leave it unplugged for at least 2 hours. I've repaired motherboards before, this is not my first one, but problem with these types of faults is that everything you check on the board will usually be fine. This is the case for me here.
I dissassembled it completely, and got my hands on the motherboard. Model No. is PIQ67H/Higgins 11047-I 48.3GD02.011.... -
by ducky29Hello. I mostly do small electronics and tv repairs. I am confident with small bga chips but I never was successful with removing large chips especially cpus. Is it possible to remove them just using a preheater and hot air gun or I need something more advanced like a bga machine with temperature profiles, cooling fans, etc etc.
Any suggestion on aliexpress/ebay are welcomed. I am on a tight budget, max I can do is about 200$. Please anyone with more experience can give me some suggestions?
Thanks in advance.09-23-2024, 03:56 PM -
by ThePlayGameI am soon heading back to university but with a tight budget I decided to attempt upgrading my laptop's ram chips (4gb), I have looked all over the web for my laptop's schematics but have only come across so little. I've located some compatible chips(?) which are Sk Hynix h5anag6ncjr xnc's but if anyone with a bit more experience with this help would be appreciated!
