Need help identifying burned components on HP DV8t

I was playing an HD video on my laptop, and it overheated until it shut down. However, it would not turn back on, and on trying to turn it on, I heard the fizzing sound and smell of something electronic burning out.

I disassembled it and found the trouble spot shown in the picture below. The burned components appear to be labeled "PE45" and "PE48", though it's possible they are "PC45" and "PC48". I thought it looked more like "PE" when I looked at it closely, but in the picture it looks more like "PC".

What are these likely to be?

To make things interesting, after I put the laptop all back together, on a whim, I decided to try and turn it on. It turned on fine and I'm using it now to post this.

My own guess is that these are some hefty capacitors, and that while burned out and sitting on the motherboard, they were shorting out ground and power. After I turned the motherboard over a few times, the shorting bits of metal dislodged and were no longer shorting anything.

But still, suggestions for suitable replacements are welcome.

I think the ones below the white connector are okay, with just the lighting and the angle making them look funny. But C643 does indeed also look burned out.

Also, this laptop (with its 18" screen) has been sitting on a desk its whole life, so drop/flex theory seems unlikely.

Any attempts to fix this board ? , PC or Palladium capacitors did their job excellently in decoupling the circuits . So it is worth to repair them .

              Asus N550LF LAN components burned
              by tofik
              Hi guys,

Could you help me identify burned components on asus N550LF mainboard please?

I am sure that main LAN IC is burned, this is the Realtek 8112G.

Please check photo attached with burned components, tracks are easy to repair, resistor is 75 ohm but what could be that big capacitor which seems to be dead and three others probably capacitors (tiny ones).

Any suggestion would be much appreciated...

Asus UX7602Z Liquid Damage - schematics or help with components identifying required
              by Kazik
Hi, I received a Liquid Damaged Asus UX7602Z for repair. I've cleaned the motherboard and found couple of damaged components. Two of them (near the battery connector) I can't identify. One is a resistor of unknow value, and the other one is probably a transistor. Laptop won't charge the battery without them. Please see the pictures and help with components identifying. I couldn't find any schematics or boardview for this laptop.

              Laptop model: Asus UX7602Z
              Motherboard: UX7602ZM, R2.1

              Can you please help?

              Thank you....

Sparkle 1200W PSU MAGNA Model: SPM1200AXJ8 - Broken. Need help identifying components. Any schematics available?
              by Sam Scarbo
My Sparkle (SPI) PC power supply has broken. Originally, there was totally no power output. The 5V-standby was not there. I have replaced a few bulged capacitors but not helping.

I was trying to do more troubleshooting but burned more components. Some got burned so badly that the markings were gone. And also, the markings of a few transistors were gone because the component surface was worn out somehow.
If you happened to have disassembled the same PSU model, please help to provide the markings of some of these components.

See the attached two pictures of the small...

Help identifying two components of a laptop gaming screen.
              by matheus30
Good evening, can you help me with a complicated repair?
I'm repairing an LED screen gaming notebook. The screen has a short circuit, and when the notebook is plugged in, it won't turn on. I found the short by removing the coil in the red circle, and by injecting voltage, I see that the Richtek power supply in the blue circle is heating up. Therefore, I have located the fault.
              But I have two problems:

              1. The most serious is that I accidentally lost the coil, and I don't have a photo. I can also tell you that there was nothing written on it. Can anyone who has seen that...
