    Fuhjyyu?

can someone tell me if these are Low ESR caps or not.. is it just safe to replace em with any other better brand cap of the same value?.... attempting to replace all the caps in a CWT-450, has all Fuhjyyu caps... replaced the 6.3v caps with low esr caps but dunno about the others that are 10v's

    Fuhjyyu 3300uF 10v TNR
    Fuhjyyu 3300uF 6.3v TMR
    Fuhjyyu 3300uF 6.3v TNR

The Fukyuus on the Secondary of the supply are Low ESR you should also replace the two 1000uf caps near the rear fan since they fail too. You can use general purpose on the 2 1000uf but I used Low ESR since it couldn't hurt.

The TM series is low ESR and the TN series is general purpose you can look them up here:

As a rule of thumb yes you can leave the smaller caps in place if they don't have a vent pattern stamped into them you can leave them alone.

I personally replaced them all but it was probably overkill. The smaller caps are general purpose.

The reason the smaller caps don't have a vent pattern stamped into them is because there is not enough electrolyte inside to form enough gas to blow the vent.

Also the tiny uF caps are mostly used in biasing, dc isolation, and coupling circuits vs filtering circuits so they don't heat up as much.

          Re: Fuhjyyu?

ok I replaced all caps... majority I replaced with brand name esr caps(rubycon, united chemi-con, nichicon, cheapest being ltec but they're mint new and other thread says they're used in xbox 360;P)..... 4700uF 10v low esr cap I didn't have any so replaced with a 1400uF 50v rubycon + 3300uF 10v United Chemi-Con paralleled, which I was told results in low esr...

other thing... now that I replaced all the caps should this power supply be trustable on a newer system... or what??? previous to cap replacing the psu was working, never died.... some people were saying something about ripple current on some psu's.... should I be worried?

sidenote: I ordered off ebay service manual for Tektronix 2235 oscope so I might be able to fix one up later but for now I got no oscope.... so in your guys experiences should this be trust worthy now?:P

Test it on the bench with a dummy load (a few older HDD`s, resistors light bulbs or similar) and a DVM.
If this is showing you a stable voltage within the ATX spec, you can try it. Except for the Ltec, i think it should be fine if the PSu is a trustworthy one.
