I bought a cheap motherboard Asus P6T Deluxe of Ebay with i7 920, won't post or boot when I connected EATX 12v port. I tried the PSU from the other computer and it didn't work either. I saw the PSU fan runs and the drives light up when the EATX12V isn't connect, but when it connected then i press Power button on PC Board, saw the ligjt flashing and turn PSU fan off. I took heat sink off, then saw 1 mosfet 9025L PBm signed burn, use multi meter measure all other the showed up 9.6 k/ohm, except the 1 with signed burn nothing showed up, is it shorted? How can I replace it? I got heat gun set up 300 celsius with small tip tried to lift up, but seems hard to remove, Any suggestions would be appreciated. Sorry newbie, don't know where to load image.

Yes, the one under heatsink, don't know which tool easy to remove it, does not affect the surface, thanks

Re: P6T won't start when EATX12V is connected
That is one ugly FET, by the way it died looks like a bad PSU caused that.
Anyways, Test them all thoroughly, and try to have same or better specs MosFet.
Now to remove the fet start slow, preheat the area you will be working on; as you can see the board itself is a heatsink for the mosfet. Heat on both sides at about 160-180C. Do for about 3-5 minutes.
Increase temperature to about 250C moving the air heat gun (never keep in one spot). Add a small amount of rosin flux or clean flux, it will help to liquefy the solder. Do for about 1 minute
Lastly increase temperature to 350-360C for no more than 30 seconds with tweezers be ready to take off the part.
Clean the pads with solder iron and solder wick adding flux helps.
Its my personal preference to use 62/36/2 for this kind of repair for its stability because of the silver content. But is not critical unless it is for a critical application.
Just melt a bit on the pad and place the replacing component and re-flow with the air heat gun.
Been doing this very same procedure for some time with multiple boards with very good results.
Hope you are able to fix your P6T Deluxe.A Picture of subject is always Welcome

Re: P6T won't start when EATX12V is connected
I have an xfx x58i which is the same generation at least, with no power when you press the power button. Forcing the power supply on the boot code is just 00, and no bios reaction.
I also have a p6x58d that is basically the same as the p6t which runs for a random amount of time, usually around 5 minutes, but had it on and running as long as an hour before it locks up. This happens even in bios..any idea on that one especially?
Both these boards have broken pins in the sockets, but I've attempted repair of them. The p6x58d is just a ground pin.
Would a broken pin in the xfx on a pin which is dealing with memory prevent the system from turning on the power supply, or would it be something else?
I've been searching for any x58 lga1366 schematics in order to understand power troubleshooting better, but not had any luck with this generation of boards. Not one schematic seems to be available anywhere on the web for them.Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

I am hoping to get some advice. I have a 2020 13" Macbook Pro - A2251 that wouldn't turn on. I have done lots of electronics repair in the past but never on Macbooks. I have had this laptop sitting around and I finally decided to take a look at it and see if I could spring some life into it.
First, it wouldn't boot up at all. I did a DFU restore and managed to get it to power on. Did a full restore but the battery was dead and wouldn't charge. I put in a new battery in it but now it won't boot up when the new battery is connected. I ordered a second new battery just in case,... -
by Giggle2562Hello everyone,
I have a Lenovo V15-IKB that had a damaged motherboard. I replaced it with a motherboard from a Lenovo V15-IIL.
The board powers on, but it shuts down after about 10-15 seconds. This only happens when the internal display (LCD panel) is connected.
Here's what I've tried so far:- When the internal display is disconnected, the laptop works perfectly fine via HDMI.
- The laptop shows an image on the internal display for a few seconds before it shuts down.
- I tried swapping the LCD panel with a known good one.
- I tried swapping the LCD cable

This was a no power initially. Thanks to your help, I discovered it was the first mosfet, so I replaced. Now, the device will power up only if the battery is NOT connected. As soon as I connect the battery, it shuts off. If I connected the battery while the device is off, it simply will not respond to the power button. I replaced the battery, and while I suppose the new battery could be faulty, I'm assuming it is not. I'm having the same behavior with the new battery. I measure .2v at the charging coil. Manually applying power to the + and - at the battery header, there is no charging happening....

by muhuruuHello. I have a problem with a PS5 console that I bought to learn electronics repair. The auction description indicated that the console had been dropped. The HDMI port and USB ports were damaged. The HDMI port was replaced by the previous owner, and after his repair, the console worked for 2 days and then became dead. After receiving the console, I replaced all the USB ports. After replacing them, the console started to turn on. On the logo screen, it displays "too many USB devices connected". My further attempts to fix the error involved replacing the Southbridge, 4 TPS2001D chips,...
