Re: Unstable Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3
More likely ram/ram timing issues than it is motherboard, but I have an asus board that does similar things, it freezes at a random time, usually 5 minutes but had it running as long as an hour, then it refuses to reboot, and its definitely not ram related. I think it's because of a broken ground pin in my socket though.

Re: Broken Southbridge on ASUS P5N32E-SLI
drop it on ebay, someone might want it for caps/different parts of the board, or to practice on like I'm doing with old boards right now. 775's aren't totally scrap, you can still drop the top of the line processors in them now for cheap and oc them to decent processing levels. Looks like working ones still go for around $80-100, so a bad one you can probably get $25 for at least.Last edited by mikan; 12-13-2015, 10:32 PM.

Sabertooth x58 with board damage
Bought another project board since I managed to power on the p6x58d I was working on and typing on it now.
It's a sabertooth with it appears to be board damage. I need a hi res photo of the underside of the board, under the north bridge/ich I guess? In the center of the board, just north of the bypass cluster of caps. Looks like it damaged 3 or 4 traces.

Re: Asus P8Z77-M Cap Identification
That's all you should need to know. Ther's some difference in the codes as far as esr reading, you probably want to replace similar low esr caps...so if it has letters you probably want to match those too I guess? But my guess is that it won't matter too much. I just bought a bunch of replacement caps for one of my boards and they threw in like a ton of caps with different letters signifying the esr rating I guess?
It does look like it's a vrm cap though, but not directly going to the cpu, maybe it's part of the +1 or +2 of your...Last edited by mikan; 12-13-2015, 07:30 PM.

Re: P6T won't start when EATX12V is connected
I have an xfx x58i which is the same generation at least, with no power when you press the power button. Forcing the power supply on the boot code is just 00, and no bios reaction.
I also have a p6x58d that is basically the same as the p6t which runs for a random amount of time, usually around 5 minutes, but had it on and running as long as an hour before it locks up. This happens even in bios..any idea on that one especially?
Both these boards have broken pins in the sockets, but I've attempted repair of...
