old Intel 180GB SSD not work controller ic getting hot can be data recovered after replace it?

    Hello.

This is very difficult to say. All depends on the ssd architecture and implemented encryption. Data in the memories is usually encoded/decoded on the fly by some key/algorithm. If the key was in the controller the chances are pretty low that a new controller will be able to decode the data. If the key is somewhere externally on a SPI, chances are present. Also it might be no encryption is used. You will probably not get a definitive answer If you do not try. Other way is to ask help by professional data rescue companies, but this is expensive. If the data has high value, this might be a better option.
