HIS 4890 blown MOSFET and driver

So one of my friends took a little too long in cleaning out his computer so some dust bunnies did this

to his HIS 4890 video card.

Is it worth fixing? It looks like these are the only things that were damaged but is it possible that this blowout caused damage to anything else? Here's a link to some more pictures of it.

If it's worth fixing any reputable vendors for the mosfet and driver in NA? The Mosfet is a ME60N03A and the driver a RT9619A.

    Thanks for reading!

If it's upper MOSFET, than it's toast, in case of lower MOSFET - maybe...
It's not worth to spend any time in repairing that...
Three groups of 16V poly's - big trouble to start with...

Makes sense, but not quite true in my experience. I had a GeForce 7600 video card like that with a blown upper MOSFET. Replaced the MOSFET and got it working again. Before that, the card kept tripping the PSU's over-current protection as soon as the power button on the PC was pushed.

Most controller will detect when an upper MOSFET is shorted and will try to turn on the lower MOSFET as well. This will almost always cause an over-current condition.

I've also fixed toasted upper MOSFETs on Xbox 360s. Not sure what causes it, but so far I've had success with getting those working after this too.

So I would say give it a try if you have the time and equipment required to do this task. For removing the MOSFET, you will need either hot air or two powerful irons (or preferably a temperature-controlled soldering station and an iron).
