    Gigabyte Aero 15 GA-RP65W no backlight, blown MOSFET

    The hinge broke on this laptop and caused damage to the LCD cable. Replacement screen and cable produced no backlight. Upon board inspection discovered blown MOSFET as shown in pic.

    The MOSFET and spec is P6402FMG/SOT23/950pF/64m https://datasheet4u.com/datasheet-pd...php?id=1093860

    I have a ton of old Macbook boards - are there any I can pull one from does anybody know?

    Start with a search for a P-channel mosfet in a SOT-23 package. Share the details of the mosfet that you have available. The source / drain voltage rating must be high enough to support the backlight voltage.
