    Recapped:

And first boot - full of errors and in german :

    Weird SETUP user interface:

Works fine after BIOS flash (also changed the language to english) and setting up.

How come you left out 3 caps in the recapped photo?

Those holes look very clean btw? what desoldering method did you use?

Original caps were 1200uF and they were all connected in parallel. Replaced them with six 2200uF so total capacitance is higher than before.
These boards are not easy to recap as the leads of original caps are bent and soldered like that and the holes are fragile. So pulling the cap while heating the leads will damage the holes. Each lead needs to be heated up and straightened (using e.g. a small screwdriver), then the caps can be removed as usual.
I used solder sucker to clean the holes - I use it all the time although it's not recommended here.

Seasonic B12 BC-550 – barely 2 years old and with BAD CAPS already!
        by momaka
I know I've been a little scarce lately (like the last 2-3 years), but I'm still here and still doing my thing with fixing PSUs.

For today's considerations, I have a Seasonic B12 BC-550 [A551bcafh] 550 Watt ATX power supply for you (click on links for full size images).

It's a modern ATX unit with fixed (non-modular) cables and an 80-plus bronze certificate. Here's the label:

Magnum IA.100 Amplifier Switches on, No Output, Possible Input Side fault?
        by flibidy
I have here a Magnum IA.100 which belongs to my parents.

The unit powers on & when the relay kicks in, you get a pop from the speakers (this might sound weird but is usual behavior for this amp). However, you get nothing coming through it from any of the inputs & no pops and crackls from any of the controls.

Because of the sound from the speaker when the amp turns on I have assumed that the output section probably works but I could be wrong & I'm not sure how to test that side of things further.

IBM NetVista Pentium III - USI Motherboard w/ Teapo SC
        by iMic
        Hi folks,

I have a couple of IBM NetVista desktop computers from around 2000-2001. They have Universal Scientific Industrial (USI) Pro286i motherboards, 733MHz Pentium III processors, and a whole bunch of bad Teapo capacitors. One board has visibly bad and venting capacitors, while the other doesn't look too bad so far.

The board with venting caps works fine, while the good looking board occasionally refuses to power on unless it's left for about 30 seconds after connecting the power - even with a known good power supply. (I am however aware I'll need to check the PSU...

Drilling out solder from capacitor holes
        by Nier
I have an xbox 360 board that had 4 leaked electrolytic capacitors. I desoldered all 8-10 capacitors (1500uf 16v) since 4 leaked and wanted to replace all of them. 2 capacitor legs broke and were stuck in the through hole.

My two solder suckers just didn't work and I decided to use my dremel lite in the lowest speed to drill out the broken capacitor legs. I used a carbon drill with the exact diameter size as the capacitor hole. I drilled out the capacitor legs but I think that I damaged the holes. I don't think that the solder will adhere through the hole if If I solder a new capacitor....

Copy DMI info easily with Hex editing software and Macro script
        by SMDFlea
Copying DMI information from an old bios to a new one is difficult for some members, often they have no experience with a hex editor,or some that have tried find it too hard. There is an option to make things easier for those members so that they don`t need to post their own bios backup for the DMI copying.

Experienced bios modding members can help by posting in other threads the DMI offsets, macro script generated by the software and a download link to the software at softpedia mentioned in this guide,or post your macros in the comments here with a link to the bios request thread ....
