    MSI MS-6368 v2.1 Recapped [pics]

Capacitors arrived today. They look rather sexy

Here's pictures of my recap jobby, as promised! Booted up fine, only time will tell if it fixes my freezing /lock up issues. Replacing a single capacitor, the big black rubycon one in the before pictures, seemed to solve the problem and it ran for a few days without issues, so.. I am guessing all is good now.

My thanks go out to everyone here who answered my questions etc I'm very pleased!!

I would have fixed the whole thing in one shot. I appluad your effort, but you've really just put a bandaid on it.

The problem will probably come back again, the 2700's beside it look bulged to me...

No, I did replace them all. Look closer at the second two pictures :P I removed the temporary big black Rubycon. The last two pictures are before pictures showing you the bulging caps that have now been replaced with shiny new Rubycon MCZ's

Also blow the dust out of your Tt Silent Boost. Good job, though.
            The great capacitor showdown!

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair
              by momaka
Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

              by bohaboha
Hi it looks like everything works don't know where to test except the 390v in the 2 capacitor in the hot side of the power supply and the weird 180v in the diodes in the cold side that should be discharged it is writin on the circuit no more you can read what is written on the circuit quite srrange color mixiing yellow and white
              anyhow i couldn't t read anything else
the backlight is on strong and the screen does not get dark or very dark but no pictures
the mainborad feels a bit hott on the black part i test it to 52 degree's against 34 to 40 on the rest of it

LG 55UH6150- trouble powering up, then half lit screen (pictures!)
              by valvashon
The 55" LG has been in the basement for a few months without being used. Turned it on yesterday, set came on as it should and showed a complete screen for about 5 seconds (was on a broadcast channel but no antenna was connected), then the screen went mostly dark with about 1/3 of the screen on the right lighting up with brighter lines in that lit part (sorry, no pictures of that). Power LED was cycling too, preventing the TV from fully powering up.
Pulled the back off, all boards looked OK. Pulled the LED connector, turned the set on to see if it would power up but I don't belive it...

              SVOD4 PCB pictures + parts
              by 2elw
Hey, I find it very absurd that the SVOD4 costs so much and has zero documentation. I had no other choice than to buy it to unlock ECs, if there was any documentation or firmware avalible I could've made it or something simmilar. Anyways here are some of the most important parts:

STM32H723VGT6 MCU - It's a microcontroller by STMicroelectronics and its the whole brain of the SVOD4. It has flash memory for the firmware which can be updated by the SVOD4 program. Its also powered by the AMS117 which converts 5v into 3.3V. 7€ on AliExpress.

              GW1N-UV9UG169C6/I5 FPGA - Its a...

i cannot get rid of the interference in the video on this 1.1v and i have tried everything!
              by bulkchart32
i recapped the entire foxlink psu with rubycon caps of the exact uf needed. i also purchased a delta psu to see if the different brand would change anything and it did not. i recapped the entire motherboard except for about 5 of the 22uf caps. i used rubycon on everything except the five in front of the processors. i used 5 nichicon polymer caps there. i soldered a wire to each screw hole of the psu and soldered one wire to the metal outer shell and one to a screw hole on the motherboard(to make sure it was all grounded well). i also recently tried disconnecting the power cables from the dvd drive...
