this board was a computer build for someone about 2 years ago, it was working fine for about a year and the lady called me and said that it was locking up costantly, i took it to my shop and noticed that 2 capacitors had swollen and split, so i replaced it with a new board and figured i could fix this one sooner or later, now i am very new to this, i have never dealt with capacitors at all, but i can solder, the caps have 4700uf 6.7v on them, so maybe someone can tell me what i need and where i can get it, i took pictures of the others capacitors also so i could get someones opinion on them as well, to me they all look fine except for the 2 that split, but im not the professional, so just let me know if they need to be replaced also.

please read

and then come back with questions. we are pleased to help you. i am sure you can fix the board properly yourself no worries -
Re: MSI pro266 Master
alright thanks i really appreciate it, ill get all that when i get off work tonight, im hoping that i will only have to replace the 2 big ones because i dont want to have to put alot of money into the board (there are quite a few capacitors on this board) im just putting it together with some spare parts i have at my shop and im going to use this as a spare computer in my room, but anyway thanks.Comment

Re: MSI pro266 Master
alright, all the caps from midway down and in the upper right corner of the board 24 of them, all the same size, green and grey, are chhsi 1000uf 6.3v caps, there are 3 different brands around the cpu, one is yellow and black the writting on it is dead against another cap so i cant tell what brand it is but i can see that it says 4v820uf on it, 2 black and silver ones tayeh 2700uf 6.3v, and theres the four big ones two are teapo 3600uf 10v which are green and gold, and the other two wich have split are 4700uf 6.3v which are also green and gold, its hard to make out the brand but i think it says LELONLast edited by tidus_X; 03-10-2006, 10:24 PM.Comment

Re: MSI pro266 Master
the yellow and black sounds like a fujitsu (especially since it is 4v) dont worry about it.
sounds like an msi badcap pizza with everything. i would replace the lelon, chssi, tayeh and teapo to do a proper final job.Comment

Re: MSI pro266 Master
Also, are you located in Georgia, the US state, or Georgia, the eastern European country? This will help in recommending places to get caps.Comment

Re: MSI pro266 Master
wow really? man thats a lot of caps to replace, and i live in geogia the US state sorry i didnt put that on my profile but its there now, anyway so what do i replace all the caps with other brands? the very small ones the 24 caps in total that are chhsi, i really cant see that there are anything wrong with them, is it a necessity to replace these or just a precaution?Comment

Re: MSI pro266 Master
its what is required to do the proper final job that will result in a stable trouble free board until it is obsolete. of course you should weigh up the costs and how you intend to use the board.
you can try replacing the blown caps and see if the board is working ok. i would run some http://www.memtest.org/ for a while to see if it is giving stable power to the ram, then install your os and run some test programs there.
i have personal bad experience with chhsi, tayeh and lelon though. if its not stable or becomes not stable later then you will have to look into replacing other caps.Comment

Re: MSI pro266 Master
well where can i just get all the caps from then? or actualy can you refer me to the caps i should replace them with, im not sure what brands and such to look for, i mite as well go ahead and replace all of them, the small ones cant cost that much.Last edited by tidus_X; 03-11-2006, 10:21 PM.Comment

by dragon3xHi, I have some 32 bits computer motherboards that need repair, as they fail to
power on.
Here are some examples :
(N.B. "capacitors" indicated here are electrolytic capacitors located in the onboard
switching supply area).
(N.B. #2 : I could not find a 3300 microF aluminum-polymer with a higher voltage
than 6.3 V.)
1 - Motherboard #1 : this is an Asrock K7VT2 (socket A) that still works well. To put it on test
I replaced capacitors with aluminum-polymer.

by slybundahey all, iv got my favourite battery charger here which iv had for many years probably 15 years now or maybe even more. it still works good but thought id open it up to clean the dust out of it, lots of dust inside but now its clean and noticed 4 capacitors inside it and wondered if i should replace them.
it has inside:
2 x 47uf 16v caps 105c branded as Su'scon (lol sounds sus to me)
2 x 470uf 16v LZ105c branded as G.Luxon
not heard of these brands are they any good?
iv attached photos of the charger and the board inside for an idea on the type of...-

by sam_sam_samI did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow
This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

by chinhang899Hey everyone!
My KORG iS50 has a volume issue where the internal speakers are only acceptable above ~50% on the master slider. What's worse is that the headphone (phones out) and line outputs are extremely quiet, even at max volume. Both left and right channels are equally affected.
Here's what I've checked:
Voltages: Vcc to DAC section measures ~5V, MUSB (mute pin on the DAC) measures ~4.xxv, and the 2 op-amps show ~9V
Master Volume Slider: Resistance ranges from single-digit Ω to ~11kΩ (seems functional).

by Ady2017I have a 2007-era Panasonic VHS combo that is full of of Elna RJG capacitors. I am trying to test the capacitors to diagnose the machine and then select replacement capacitors but I can not find any datasheets for them. I did find a Elna catalogue from 2007-2008 but there is no mention of this capacitor series. Where these specially made for Panasonic and so not made available to the public? Any ideas what to find out what the ESR values should be without the datasheets? They are all between 10V and 50V and 47uF and 1800uF. None are leaking or bulged but I know that they need to be tested to be...
