    gv-n1060g1 gaming-6gd dean

    Hi,

If i have very low resistance on the GPU power supply coils, does it means its a dead GPU chip ?

u need miliohm meter or good multimeter to measure gpu ic resistance because it is very low so u cannot compare it to short

maybe or maybe not! need best vom to mesure it! A normaly it resistance about value 5-7 ohm. Some sepcial case the resistance turn to under 0 ohm,but still working not full function about output port

Can you help me on starting the process of testing it and see why it is not working ?

I am usually dealing with laptop motherboards

Is the 12v connected enough or it must be connected to a powered on mobo?

it MUST be connected to MB because of reset signals and other powers to work. so yes, u must have connected powered MB and u must have 12V PSU power. thats why everybody uses risers to have GPU off the board for better approach

GTX 1080 TI Gigabyte Aorus low resistance on vmem
                  by cind12
Hi guys, i was wondering, i've got 9Ohms on Vmem, one of the mosfet was shortet to ground, so i've desoldered hi and low mosfets nad still low res, then i removed all of the memory chips, and the resistance is still low, so did you had maybe a card with that low res on memories, and the card was working fine ?
Removed the U1866Q and still without result, i dont have thermal cam so can't see where is hot spot when incjeting voltage.
The resistance on core is ok 0.1Ohm ((Power 0.8V when on)
Resistance on 12V 4K ohms (Power present when on)
Resistance on 12V PEX 4K ohms...

Lowest possible resistance on laptop motherboard rail - Guide Table request
                  by Nagy Daniel
Hi, I'm Daniel, and I'm new to the world of repairing motherboards.

I would like to create a table, or more likely a guideline about the voltage rails and their possible resistance rail.

I know that the motherboard design has a very big depend on the rail's resistance, but I would like to know what is the smallest value for a rail that can be acceptable. For example, I heard that some new gaming motherboards can have 0,5 Ohm resistance on the GPU rail, but on an older type, it could be a sign of a shorted GPU rail.

So, I generated a table with AI so I can...

Dell E7450 LA -A961P - diagnostics after flooding and damaged PD817, PD5 diodes
                  by bpjl
                  Hi,

I have La-A961P Rev: 1.0 (A00) from a flooded laptop on the table. The computer was flooded with tea and at the same time the power supply was disconnected, the battery was removed immediately and the laptop was turned upside down.

I looked at the mainboard, but I don't see any marks of water damage. Maybe the liquid did not reach MB, or maybe I just don't see it.
During the inspection, I noticed a burned (charred on one side) double diode PD817.

                  Voltage drops during PD817 measurements:
                  - PIN1-PIN3 forward biased = 0.137V...

Legion 5 15ACH6A powered ON but no display
                  by abobek zum
                  Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding this laptop. Laptop came from my friend, completely dead. No reaction for power button, Adpater etc. Diagnosis: burned HIS mostfet from VRAMs. After replacing the mosfet, Laptop starts to power up, KB lights up for few second and switch off, laptop remain ON but no display. Vents are switching ON after some time. No Caps Lock or reaction on USB stick. No display also through HDMI. All coils resistance seems to be OK except resistance on VRAMs – 15 Ohm ( as I study the other repairs or diagnostic of that laptop it should be around 90 -...

Meaco Arete One / Deye Dehumidifier not working
                  by CG2
I've got a dehumidifier that has stopped working. Plug it in, press the power switch, and it beeps 5 times. Nothing showing in the display (which is just two 7 segment displays) apart from the two decimal points flashing. The model is a MeacoDry Arete One 18L, which seems to be a rebadged Deye (all the boards are marked Deye). Here's what I've got so far (details in case anyone else in future should need them).

Starting with the power board. Mains power comes in at the red connector top left. The compressor is powered by the orange connector to the right of that and is switched by...
