    imac 27 820-00134 no 3v3_s5

hi all. got this board with bent cpu pins. it was not working and while trying new cpu and ram, customer bent many cpu pins.
i have replaced cpu socket, but board didnt give first led.
i have 12 volt, but it's missing pp3v3_s5. if i connect multimeter and give power i see a spike of 1,5 volt then dropping slowly. if i remove power after connecting it i see that spike, then when it reach like 0,10 volt it goes up to 1,5 volt again even if psu has been disconneted.

already replaced u7600 isl6238 chip from another board (not sure if it's 100% working), but same thing happen.
pin 12 voltage is 4,6 volt.

volts on c5400 pin 1 (pp3v3_s5 ) goes to 0,15 volt when psu is connected.

resistance on L7610 is high, like no short.

so: 0 to 1,5 volt spike and going down slowly on L7610, but 0,15 volt on pp3v3_s5 line.

    Re: imac 27 820-00134 no 3v3_s5

Most iMac's I work on like that have a shorted switched rail after S5. Power supply starts and shuts down instantly as a result. I go through each switched rail and check for shorts (like PP3V3_S4 etc). Last one I think was a short on PP3V3_S0 and was a cap at the bottom of the board near the rear connectors.

      Re: imac 27 820-00134 no 3v3_s5

tnx for reply. ill check later

edit: however the rail that goes on for a bit then of is a s5 rail ( pp3v3_s5) and imac first light is not even on...

on pp3v3_s5 coil there is no short and that line goes on up to 1.5 volt then back to 0 volt

        Re: imac 27 820-00134 no 3v3_s5

        update:

after some investigation today i found that u7600 was getting 3,7v in instead of 12volt, so i measured 1omh resistor r7603 and it was bad. after replacing it i got 2,6volt on L76120.

after some more testing i removed q7690 and i got 3,4 volt on pp3v3_s5_ssd. after put it back and remove u7620 i got 3,12 volt on pp3v3_s5_ssd. now im waiting both component to be sure to get all new and working and after i got them in around 15-20 days from china, ill update the statement

        tnx for helping

iMac A1418 - No LED, no power after overvoltage on Ethernet port
          by ryogadan78
Hi guys, I need your help again.
I have this iMac from a customer that shut down during a storm along with all the other devices in the house. In particular, the router, connected via Ethernet to the iMac, caught fire.
When I removed the screen from the iMac to check the status of the LEDs, I noticed that none of them were lit. I had a perfectly compatible and working power supply, so I tried it right away, but the problem remained the same (no LEDs). With the thermal camera, I noticed only a slight warming (32 degrees) of the NCP1605BG chip on the power supply. The rest was completely...

          iMac M1 DFU restore issue
          by Stephen
iMac turns on no drops no cracks, tried to DFU Restore the iMac, logo turns on great! however iMac turns itself off and then restarts to the (!) icon and won't post the restore. Tried thunderbolt 3 cable, tried regular USB C cable and nothing.

this is the message it gives me with the error

Unexpected device state 'DFU' expected 'RestoreOS' (Probably forced into DFU mode externally) [com.apple.MobileDevice.MobileRestore – 0xFAE (4014)].

Any thoughts what this could be? I will open it up and repair it but I am not 100% sure since this iMac doesn't...

          iMac 27” 2020 Boot issue
          by Stephen
Customer came in for data recovery, came to find out data is soldered on to this iMac (learn something new everyday) this is a 2020 T2 iMac so I was surprised because the iMac Pro has a T2 chip and it isn’t soldered on. Anyways, the iMac boots to Apple logo and then restarts, before it turns off you hear a quarter fan spin then it repeats itself. I decided to do a DFU revive to restore any hardware firmware issues and it was successful in reviving the device however the issue persists in boot looping. It shows the Apple logo for like 40 seconds then turns off and fan spin rinse repeat. I...

After installing old drives now we're having the same problem that the device is in recovery mode. Previously after swap of the SSD iMac worked on the old SSD however after attempt of revive on the new SSD machine stuck in recovery mode, I can go to DFU but the same result with error 4010.

external hd Seagate, broken down the +12 volt and USB 3.0 SATA board
          by gabri2211
          Hi to all 😎
I'm looking for any useful information to repair this interface (I have attached the image).
On this board I read E3215-1215A_4D.
This is the small plate inside the HD enclosure that allows to connect a 12 volt power supply, interface the disk with a USB 3.0 socket and is connected to the HD with the SATA connector.

If any of you have found a burnt or short-circuited component in a circuit like mine, if you have useful diagrams for the repair, or even better a description for the tests at the test points, I would be very grateful.
          in particular...
