    HP Model HSTND-2B03 (HP1740) Help.

    Hi Guys,

    I am new to this site so thank you very much for providing it.
    I am repairing a HP LCD monitor but have a small problem. If you look at the component side picture you can clearly see a BENQ emblem. From this photo you will see I have remove 1 FET and the 4 2SC5705 transistors. It is on the foil side that I would like help. You will see I have put 2 red arrows pointing to D803 on the RHS and D801 on the LHS. I would like to know any information about these diodes please. I believe they are zenners and even the value of the components would be a help.

          Are you replacing them because they are burned out or because the eBay kit for your 48.LIG02.A01 board said to? If you don't have the tools then you are better to skip them so long as they aren't shorted and the monitor works when you are done.

          What parts are in your kit?

              Ahhh!!! The light dawns. Some unnamed person removed that diode, now you must replace it. I don't have the parts list for that monitor, but I do have one for a monitor which uses the same inverter circuit design. The part is listed as Diode, Schottky, 2A, 40V, DO214AC package.

                Thanks for the information. I thought they were zenner diodes.

                  I understand the relationship between Zen and motocycle maintenance, but never heard of it being used to repair monitors.

                    Checked my spare parts and could not find any. Have ordered them from Farnell but it will take a week before I get them. Thats the price for living in the country.
