Acer V193w has odd backlight problem

I have an Acer V193w with an odd backlight issue. At first I thought it was 2 seconds to black, but now I'm not so sure.

The monitor originally went 2 seconds to black on me, but after playing with it, it will stay on for an undetermined amount of time (from 2 seconds, all the way up to a couple of hours) and then the monitor (not just the backlight) will turn off (power light still on and blue).

But if I launch a game, the monitor will instantly shut off.

The power and logic board look all brand new and shiny. I bought caps for the power board, just haven't installed them yet.

Let me know if you want pictures of the boards, and I will disassemble the monitor again (this monitor was, oddly, extremely easy to take apart).

I know this thread is nearly a year old, but did you ever figure out the odd backlight problem? I am experiencing the same exact issue once I launch a game.

I dissembled the monitor and everything looked decent. For good measure I replaced some of the cheaper samxon and suscon caps and it still experienced the same issue.

Some pictures sure would help, as the old saying goes please use managed attachments.
This is just a guess maybe a game puts a little more demand on the LCD panel, By having to change colors rapidly, or refresh the screen.
I think you should verify you have good outputs of the voltage regulators on the logic board, I have found sometimes they will start out good and then slowly drop out to a lower voltage. You may have to monitor these for a while.
One question if you disconnect the cable from the logic board to the lcd panel ,What happens do the back lights stay on?
