Pic is out of focus. Take your board to a window on a sunny day. Turn off flash and enable macro mode.

Again, you don't have to put the pic inline.

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

Re: WestingHouse L2210NW Will not power.

Hey dudes - I don't mean to hijack, but I actually have the same thing going on with the same board...and here I was thinking that no-one else was having issues with these (after searching high and low!)...

I'm a noob to LCD repair but know my way around basic electronics for the most part. I started a thread since a search for my inverter board and model number came up with nothing. (I am going to include it here right now so it gets indexed by searches in the future and people can find this!: Darfon B092-XXX ) What are the chances of two people having the same board going in the same forum at once? o.O

Anywhos, I did go ahead and check the stuff that Testas checked - the diode pair packages on the heatsinks...my readings show they're okay...transistors are okay, etc. I have heat marks around that under-board FET, so I checked that as per the instructions in this thread - everything checks out.

However, unlike Testas' problem, I did the flashlight test before trying to fix it and there IS a picture after the backlights drop out. So, I guess we must have a different problem.

I am going to swap out the last CapXon cap, read my transformers and report back, in the meantime. Here is my thread if you'd like to see the pictures I posted:

Can you see any parts of the name on it? Any numbers or letters at all?
All I can tell you is that this IC is likely the PWM controller for the primary side. Probably something similar to UC3842.

Sorry I can't be of more help - I don't have this monitor or PSU.

On the Westinghouse TVs I would also verify that the all the connector pins are actually soldered down to the board.

                      by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                      by PantherDave
                      Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                      Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue

                      Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                      by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
