I have this machine. It powers up and gets fan spin, will even shut down when I hold the power button.
U1200 gets very hot under thermal camera, the next hottest region is UB000 and L7030. I'm assuming L7030 is warm due to charging.
Do I have a potential dead CPU? or just a dead U1200? Not sure what to check since everything is powered up.
I got a Lenovo Thinkpad T14 Gen.3 here and it's not turning on. When plugged in draws 20v 0a, sometimes the power LED blinks 3 times. I'm a beginner in laptop repair and I'm not sure how to diagnose or repair this issue. Any ideas??
https://photos.app.goo.gl/Xg2jZmAocXDU6XgUA here is a video. I completed a visual inspection of the logic board and did not see any obvious faults. I have checked for PPBUS_G3H @ C8008/1 and I find it cycles from 13v - 0v and back. For reference, I'm unaware there is a schematic and boardview available for the 820-00928 So I'm using the BV and schematic for 820-00281 as mentioned somewhere here on Badcaps. Where should I go next?
This laptop is stuck at 5v(all four ports checked) and exactly 420ma current draw. I checked PPBUS_G3H @ F7000 P2, and get ~8.76v where I should have 12.60v-12.65v. I checked resistance to ground @ F700 P2 and got an instant 0 which was odd. I applied 1v5a @F7000 P2 and have no draw, indicating no short.
