    A1990 820-01814A U1200 very hot when powered up, USB drawing > 4A

I have this machine. It powers up and gets fan spin, will even shut down when I hold the power button.
U1200 gets very hot under thermal camera, the next hottest region is UB000 and L7030. I'm assuming L7030 is warm due to charging.

Do I have a potential dead CPU? or just a dead U1200? Not sure what to check since everything is powered up.

The U1200 gets very hot because it has an internal short circuit. Or this IC is being short-circuited by a downstream component. I don't know what the U1200 IC's function is, but you can find out, especially if you have a thermal imaging camera, where exactly the short circuit is coming from. Apply a small voltage to various points on the U1200. If every time the short-circuit current set on the power supply flows, only the U1200 gets hot, the U1200 itself is damaged. However, if the short-circuit current flows and the U1200 doesn't get hot, the short circuit must be in a downstream component.

Its not the only thing that gets "hot" but it's the hottest thing on the board as can be seen in attached thermal image.
      U1200 is "System Power Management".

        working on a 820-01041 a1990 macbook pro
the machine is only drawing 5v on usb c ports, and around 0.24a

one board measured 5v and 0.00a but later when i connected again it's went to 0.24a

        ppbus is 12.27v-12.29v

is not recognized on apple configurator on dfu or recovery

can't seem to find a short anywhere on board but with the power adapter connected (without battery)
i notice the t2 chip is getting a little hot..

pp1v8_slps2r present and doesnt seems to be shorted..

        any ideas? how can...

ASUS ROG G513QY – RX 6800M powered but not detected intermittently + random crashes (Motherboard: 6050A3254002-MB-Axx)
        by EvazX
        Hello everyone,

I am working on an ASUS ROG G513QY laptop with RX 6800M dGPU.
Originally, this laptop was completely non-functional. I replaced the motherboard (part number 6050A3254002-MB-Axx), and with the replacement board it started working fine.

For a long time, the dGPU worked perfectly stable. I played several hundred hours on very demanding games such as Cyberpunk 2077 without any crashes, instability, or detection issues. Performance was excellent and there were no warning signs of failure.

However, after some time, the replacement motherboard...

        i9 32GB Ram 1TB

Hi, I found short on one of 6 black nand (total 1TB).
i removed all 6 nand ( voltages all ok) and now i want to program with JC P15 but for A1990 2019 there is only 512GB configuration.
I try A2141 1TB configurazion with TSB4228 but the position on pcb is different ( U9300 and U9400 is no stuff on A1990 but present on A2141 and U8800 and U8900 is no stuff on A2141 but present on A1990 )
macbook with A2141 configuration run on recovery but don't complete it.
        anyone can help me?

A1990 820-01814-A dead not charging - need help with diagnostics.
        by master_haze86
        Good day everyone,

Let me preface this with letting you know that I have a smalltime computer repair shop but do not have a lot of experience when it comes to board diagnostics. I am good at soldering etc but finding the issue if there isn't an obvious burnt component is not my strong suit.

The other day I got a customer come in with a macbook A1990 (motherboard 820-01814-A) that would not turn on and had previously been getting the warning message that the battery needed servicing. (Most folks seem to ignore that message, just like the check engine light in vehicles.)...

        MacBook A1990 26 Pin Connector
        by Strolch
Hello, can anyone tell me where I can get this 26-pin FPC connector? What is the connector for?So that one's also for the Touch Bar. I thought only the FPC at the top was for the Touch Bar. But where can I get it? I can't find the connector online. I only found the 22nd pin. Thank you....
