Proview 17 inch lcd monitor model #700P

i have a proview 17 inch lcd monitor model #700P. it powers on with good signal for a couple seconds then goes black. i changed out 2 capacitors,( the bigger blue ones) 1000uf-25volts, that were popped and could see one smaller chip with 8 pins at u101 on the board that has a burn like it popped. also there are some darker like burn spots on the board by the what i do believe are the inverter chips. does this have anything to do with this problem?
    thanks.

Give series, values & cap ratings of remaining caps. Normally, on those power/inverter boards, all caps are replaced. Also, a picture from the other side of the board would help.

The discoloration to the right of T101 is normal. The discoloration to the left of T102 is excessive. I would expect there is a problem with the components on that side. As eguevarae has indicated, a picture of the bottom of the board is indicated.

L001, etc are inductors, and have a very low failure rate.

CapXom and SamXon are two manufacturers known to supply bad caps. As a matter of routine I will replace ALL of them with Panasonic FM series or a similar low ESR series cap from other reputable manufacturers.

On the back side of the board, U101 appears to be damaged. U101, U102, U104 and U105 are probably all the same part number. C101 (and C105?) should also be replaced, and all leads on the transformers should be resoldered.

As a final suggestion for future reference, I've found that turning the flash off, using a tripod, and taking the picture under room light eliminates the glare and makes the picture a lot easier to use. On a positive note, the pictures were of an excellent size for providing good detail.

ok i have replaced caps, as mentioned, to a point where i have got it to power on with a good signal for approx 10 - 15 seconds then i get a black out. i then unplug cable from back of computer and then i get a no signal on lcd then plug cable back in to computer and the steps repeat over again is it possible the U101 chip is causing this fault?

This will require further troubleshooting. When the display 'blacks out' does the power led on the monitor stay green? If you press the power button (on the front of the monitor) twice does the display come back, then go black again after a few seconds? When the display has gone black can you see the 'desktop' if you use a very bright light to illuminate the screen? If the answer to these questions is 'yes', then U101 could very well be responsible.

Time approximations are notoriously subjective. The normal sequence for inverter operation goes like this: The inverter controller gets a command to turn on the backlights. It then drives all CCFLs at full brightness. A few seconds later it begins monitoring the voltage across and the current through each CCFL. If any are out of range (too high or too low) it will turn off all backlights.

When a fault exists, typically the backlights will be on one or two seconds, not 10-15 seconds. If U101 is bad, I would not expect the backlights to be on more than 1-2 seconds.

from what i can see of the type of chip at u101 the i.d. of it is A 4606 BE4Y15. and from what i could see when the screen lit up it is in really great shape! im sure hoping i/we can fix this. thanks.

A good picture of U105 might help. The ID you gave doesn't come up in a search.

Hello I have fix this boards alot and the 4 chips are AO4606.made Alpha & Omega Semiconductor They sell them on eBay cheap. From the picture I see one of the four burn out. replace all four and check the other components around that burn MOSFET like that zener diode and resistor. You may need the Inverter chip BIT3193G maybe?

thanks for the info but upon further inspection the metal contact on the board where this chip goes is damaged. i guess it was cooked for a reason. there is no way ill be able to resolder a new chip onto this. i guess i'll keep the lcd for now maybe somewhere along the way i'll come across one that has a broken lcd or i could use the parts from this one to fix another??? thanks for all the help. it definetley was a learning experience.

Looking at the picture bottom side of your circuit board I don't see any damage. Try cleaning the board with alcohol and a small brush. If you have an magnifying glass that will give you clearer picture of the trace and padding. Also there is some glue holding those transistors into place. So a hot air gun will be the best way to remove them to avoid damaging the circuit board.

In my 700p I dismantled the power board as the green power led didn't come on. Found shirt across cc000331/litai504, (looking for data came to this site) unable to identify. Now seem to be part of filter. Now found short over 7815 in to gnd, and short of 2xdiode D6 also one cap looks swollen. Not handling screens normally. Any advise accepted.

some power supplies have loading resistors to keep it stable.
