This thread is of a specific model. If it's your unit, post a pic set of the boards and cap info and we'll go from there.

What EGuevarae said. And for Faraday's sake, use some punctuation. Unreadable posts often aren't read.

        Read?
As a matter of fact, I tend to read posts aloud to practice my English (2nd language) and see where punctuation can be inserted and such,so I can both try to help, learn and also improve my language.... you should try to read it....

Re: Issue with Westinghouse 19" LCD Monitor (large pics)

Hello, although this post was started several years ago, it still keeps alive, so, after reading the whole tread, I think I can help a little.
When trying to fix an ACER 2017, I used this dac-19m005 datasheet I found on the web.

          http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YJWEDABQ

Here you can see schematics and components. Although it is a different LCD model, is has the same power board: DAC-19M005 CF REV: 00A, (plus it has just DUB conector, no DVI, but still the same board too), so: same problems and same fixes, I guest.
After recapping all (same 2 bulged caps as every faulty board), I can see images on the screen but no backlight. You only can see it taking a light close to the screen ( I didn´t read anybody in this situation, everybody has no light but nobody has mentioned about dark images with no backlight)
All the fuses on the backside are OK but I can see a damage transistor: Q204, on the backside, right close to the F200 4A fuse, so probably this is what I need to fix.
According to Kahless (on post #299 and # 301) and billy 66 ( #320) I can see Q2004 burnt ( probably that´s because F200 fuse didn´t blew up), but I checked R210 and I got about 11 Ohm, so I think it´s Ok. Anyway, I ordered replacements for the whole components:Q204,Q208 and R210.
I´ll post the results when I get it working here or in a new thread refering ACER 2017 (only DUB, no DVI conector)
          Thanks

            HP probook 4510s mosfet issue
            by Cuboy
            Hello,

I am currently trying to help a ONG by volunteering to help repair laptops, it's something that i have been into since 2017, always watching videos, on discords, forums etc...

I have an HP ProBook 4510s laptop that does not power on and has no indicator lights, which suggests an issue with the power supply or the motherboard.

I started by verifying that there is voltage at the input of the motherboard, confirming that the power adapter is working correctly. However, when I checked the voltage at the output of the first MOSFET (Q1032), I found 19V at...

Lenovo IdeaPad 330 laptop mosfet issue
            by ebyte64
            Good day everyone.

I have been scratching my head with a Lenovo laptop I got in today.

The laptop had no power and taking no amps from the power supply. Checking voltage showed 20v only on one side of the first mosfet. Took it off and replaced it and then same story. Took off second mosfet and then the first mosfet had the right voltages as well as 25v on gate is it should. Replacing the second mosfet the problem started again.

Even using a wire to bypass the second mosfet does the same interference with the first mosfet.

            Would anyone...

How do you test MOSFET in laptops ?
            by Jane
I tried to use this method:

            Testing an N-channel MOSFET:

Step 1: Discharge the Gate (turn off the MOSFET)
Place the black probe (COM) on the Source (S) and the red probe on the Drain (D). The multimeter should show no continuity (high resistance or "OL" – open line).
Then, touch the black probe to the Source (S) and the red probe to the Gate (G). This discharges any stored charge in the Gate, turning the MOSFET off.

Step 2: Charge the Gate (turn on the MOSFET)
Now, place the red probe on the Gate (G) and the black probe on the

Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54. displays on the external monitor and works fine, the issue is NO display on the internal screen
            by DqMagetz
            Good day!
I have a customer's laptop — Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54 (EH5VF - LA-H501P). It has a display on the external monitor and it's working fine, but the issue is NO display on the internal screen. I already replaced the eDP cable and checked the LCD connector pins.

            Here are the voltage readings:
            • Input – 19V (stable)
            • +LCDVDD – 3.3V briefly, then drops to 0V
            • EDP_HPD – 3.3V briefly, then drops to 0V
            • PCH_BKL_PWM – 2.2–5V briefly, then drops to 0V
            • EC BKOFF# – 1.8V briefly, then drops to 0V
            • PANEL_OD_EN – 0.3V

Is it possible that the EC chip is corrupted or damag...

Westinghouse L2210NW LCD monitor - bad caps repair
            by momaka
Here's another LCD monitor repair: Westinghouse L2210NW.
Quick specs: 22” CCFL backlit LCD, 1680x1050 max resolution (16:10 aspect ratio)

I got it with a bunch of desktops PCs from a repair shop that was trying to free up space a few years ago. It seemed like a cheap monitor, so I didn't really care that much at first when I picked it up (and indeed it is, picture-wise.) But hey, free is free, so I can't complain. Moreover, it looked clean and the screen didn't have any significant scratches or blemishes.

Pictures of the monitor outside/case after a brief...
