Nanao 9070S blinking LED and no picture

I'm building an 486 dream CAD system and because the card I am using has BNC outputs I needed a monitor with BNC inputs. This monitor was found at the university. It has the ability to switch between BNC VGA and TTL/non-TTL EGA, CGA and MDA. It was perfect.
The problem is that I can't get a picture. I switch it on and all I get is a blinking green LED on the front.
Visual inspection shows a yellowed spot on the back where the hot air from the power supply comes out and an internal inspection finds no instantly visible problems or faults. Could it just be dried out caps or what?

Pictures? Brand/series of caps? Any noise with the blinking?

      The caps are nippon chemicon.
Also, I left the monitor plugged in and on for a while to heat stress it a little and after a while the led went solid and I got a picture. I switched it off and then on again and it instantly gave me a picture and if I left it off for a while I would have to wait again.
Another problem that might be a little easier to fix is that the color is off in the lower left corner. I'll first move it and if it is still there I'll see if I can somehow degauss the thing.

Agree. I had a similar problem with a Proview that I had to "warm up" to work.

It must be a bad cap (or caps). The monitor must be rather old ("EGA, CGA and MDA") so even if they are good brand, they might be dry.

I'll have to look them all over some time. In the meantime I have to see what is screwing up the colors. It has to be somewhere on the swivel base as when I turn the screen left and right the colors change.
EDIT: Actually, the monitor was made this month, twenty years ago.

Well, then your monitor is older than my sister.

You want a free monitor with BNC inputs? I have a 1998 NEC multisync P750, 17", has BNC, D-sub, and a mac connector.

Got no money for shipping right now. This will do for now and it fits in the timestream for the 486-era CAD/CAM box I'm building because I'm bored and have piles of old 486 parts and a copy of AutoCAD 12.

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

                    by Schwoin
                    Hey everyone,

the picture on my philips monitor looks way too bright so that black appears grey and colors also seem too bright.

While i tried to tilt the screen a little bit while it was displaying a picture, i´ve noticed, that there appeared some purple pixels. In the following picture
you can see them on the top half of the photo.

At a certain point during the tilting, the picture looked normal again but as soon as i laid it back down, the purple pixels were gone and the picture was bright again.

Hello, Badcaps is my last resort. I am the first owner of the monitor. I reached almost every repair store in my area, but no one even wanted to hear about troubleshooting an old CRT monitor. At this point, I have been trying to figure it out by myself, but I have no idea where to start or look for.

I wish to know how to think and locate a failing component. I will put all my efforts to learn and contribute.

                    Hi Everyone

Lately I am experiencing the deja-vu incident on one of the led monitor like this.

LG 23MP55HQ LED Monitor turns off after a few seconds or flickers.
                    by Rick_1234
                    Good evening, gentlemen.

I have a problem with my monitor. It turns off after a few seconds or flickers. Shining a flashlight on the screen doesn't show any image, so I guess it's not the "2 seconds to dark" I read in the forum.

To turn it back on, I have to press the power button twice. Then after a few seconds it turns off again or flickers. See video.
