Samsung 2043NW Strange Issue with High Resolutions

Hey guys I have a Samsung 2043NW LCD that is showing some strange problems. When I set the monitor to 1600x1200 it works just fine apart from the lower resolution. No flicker at all. When I switch the setting to the recommended 1680x1050 it has a black screen with some strange bars and slowly bleeds to being completely black.

I know that the computer and cable are fine because when I plug another monitor in and set it to 1680x1050 it works beautifully. I looked at the power supply board and none of the caps are bulged.

This is something I have never seen before. Any ideas on what would cause it to work fine in the resolution lower but not on the recommended resolution?

    Thanks

I would try replacing those 3 lytics caps on the main board.
BTW, am I seeing brown stains on top of those lytics caps on the bottom right of the power supply board next to the white connector?.

there are marks on ones without a vent, i think it's just marker pen.

      i'd change them anyway though.

Yeah it's just the marker they use at the factory. I'll change them and see what happens.

Tried replacing all of the caps and the problem is exactly the same. When trying to display a high resolution I can hear a faint screeching coming from the circuit board that travels along the top of the LCD.

Samsung SyncMaster 740n Phase Control Issue
            by vincentedel
            Hello,
I'm having an issue with the Samsung 740n's phase control setting. When I use the automatic adjustment, it sets the value to around 54 (with a range of 0-100), and the picture looks clear and sharp. However, after some time—like after playing a game—the text starts to look blurry. When I auto-adjust again, it may increase the value to 80, and everything becomes sharp once more. Yet, after a while, whether it's a few hours or a day later, the same blurriness returns, and I have to adjust it again.

I'm using the Samsung 740n monitor drivers instead of the default plug-and-play...

            QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV Issue
            by Manucsl
            Hello.

My TV is a QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV.

Issue : When you plug the 220V, voltages are OK on the power board and you can hear the click from the relay, but TV is not starting when power button is pressed. Red led is blinking when you press power button. But no images or sound ( Back-light is off )
Then if you disconnect the cable from the main board to the power supply, the TV back-light turns on.
Any ideas to check would be very appreciated 😊

            Display issue Samsung TV UA65JS9000W
            by FourRunner
I purchased a used Samsung TV model UA65JS9000W recently knowing it had an issue with the screen. When switched on the picture was bright both sides of the screen but a little darker in the middle of the screen. Thinking this was the back lights (side mounted LCD strips) I replaced these, however the issue is still there. I am now thinking it may be a TCOM issue, but am not sure, any advice on this would be appreciated. Also whilst changing out the back lights I noticed the the thick clear plastic sheet (maybe 1.5 to 2mm thick) below the diffusers there is cracking (up to 75mm) on the sides and...

Samsung UE48JU7000 screen issue after backlight replacement
            by ScHAmPi
            Hi all,

Because of two bright spots and a couple of dark spots I decided to replace the backlights in my Samsung UE48JU7000. See attached photos:

I thought all went well, but after full assembly and testing it out it turns out not all is fine. The backlights are completely fine but I have some weird issues on the right half of the screen. Since I didn't really touch the T-CON board (apart from taking out the ribbons of the display and reconnecting them on assembly) it would be weird that the issue is with the T-CON board... But based on the behavior of the service...
