Hi just received a hp f2105 from my son. It powers up with full screen but the desktop is showing vertical lines from top to bottom where there is an icon even the mouse. When I move the mouse it is very slow re-acting and leaves a tail? The faster I move it the longer the tail? All action on the screen is very slow? Can someone tell me what would cause this.

Re: hp f2105 slow screen
Try a different monitor so you know it isn't a video card problem.
If it was only lines I'd say the monitor but with those other things going on you should make sure it's not the card.Mann-Made Global Warming.

I tried it with a laptop and the screen on the laptop is fine but the monitor still shows the symptoms. What ever is causing the delay in the screen? Could it be a transistor problem? Some other symptoms; I cannot make any adjustments in the menu. When I push the OSM button, the menu appears on the screen then fades away. If I open a word doc the screen looks normal but when I start typing the movements on the screen are delayed. (the letters sort of fade in) On a web page with a scroll bar the page looks perfectly normal but I cannot read the scrolling bar?? Hope this does not confuse things but helps to identify the problem. It certainly appears to be the speed at which the monitor can process the commands from the cpu and I read that transistors have been used to improve the speed of lcd monitors?? Someone with more knowledge than I might explain this.Comment

Re: hp f2105 slow screen
I think what is going on is the refresh rate has slowed down.
That's what updates the screen when something changes.
The cause could be a number of things.
Bad Caps, bad soldering, bad transistor or IC chip.
Even a corrupt firmware or just a loose connector.
I'm not a guru when it comes to video.
I'm just trying to help some until one of those happens along.
Off the top of my head davmax is very good at this sort of thing.
Look him up with user search and send him a PM. See if he has time to help.
In the mean time it's obviously inside the screen.
I suggest disassembly and inspection for obvious problems.

Re: hp f2105 slow screen
I have had bad BAD experiences with Elite in LCD's.
Other people have similar complaints about about the other two. (Especially Lelon)
-
There is a fair chance just replacing those caps will fix it.
It's not for sure of course. Just a reasonable change.

Re: hp f2105 slow screen
I don't know what grade of caps you are working with but 220uF @50v shouldn't be hard to find and will work fine if they'll physically fit.Mann-Made Global Warming.

Re: hp f2105 slow screen
220uf -> 1000uF is too big a jump.
Without knowing the circuit I would stick to the original value.
In a pinch maybe a 270uF. (Next standard size up I think.)Mann-Made Global Warming.

Re: hp f2105 slow screen
My HP f2105 has the same problem. The screen has a massive delay and there are vertical lines on the screen. The menu still works in mine though. It happened all of a sudden. If you figure out how to fix it, please let us know. Thanks.Comment

Re: hp f2105 slow screen
I finally got back at this monitor. I have now replaced all the caps in two of the four boards (that were all elite caps) with no results. I did find a loose connection at the main plug connection (120v) and re soldered but did not make any difference. Not sure what to try next. here is a photo of the boards I think??. My first post with attachment??Comment

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by reformattJust had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".
It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...07-31-2025, 08:37 PM -
by smic717394Hi,
I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on... -
by ChrissygizmoHello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same... -
by spice_discI'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.
The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...1 Photo - Loading...
