Samsung Syncmaster T240 - dim screen

    Hello,

Some time ago, my Samsung Syncmaster T240 suddenly lost the screen brightness. After opening it, I saw that the TM-09175 inverter transformer is damaged (melted on top).

Actually the monitor is working, but adjusting the brightness at 100%, the screen looks a bit dark and seems as if it was set at 40% brightness.

I ordered today the inverter transformer and I hope to receive it in three weeks. Meanwhile, I can do some testing if anyone believes that there may be some other broken component.

    Thanks in advance.

      I would recap the board.
You can also have worn out lamp so it draws too much current as caused one of the two high Voltage windings to burn out.

        Unsoldered R301 = 390K
You can not distinguish the colors of the resistor, but I've seen pictures of the same power supply and seems the correct value.

If I have a worn out lamp, can I do something?, worth it?
