Hi all,
I'm trying to repair a Dell sx2210b LCD monitor. The backlight goes off instantly after turning power on. This monitor has an external power supply, I have replaced all caps in the inverter board, but that didn´t make any change.
In order to test the inverter board with a cfl lamp, I have soldered a couple of wires in each ccfl connector on the inverter board, and just before connecting the cfl lamp, I tested once again the monitor and I found that the backlight works while I keep the wires soldered in the second ccfl connector.
The wires are only soldered on the inverter board and nothing is connected to the other end, somehow it seems to act like a coil. If I disconnect the CCFL lamp on the connector where the wire is soldered, the backlight goes off.
I suspect that one of the lamps is faulty and is not drawing enough current.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
