Dell E196FPf - No image or power indication

    Good Day!

I have a Dell E196FPf LCD Monitor that when I turn on gives no image and no power indication on the LED. So I opened it up to check out the power board (suspecting to find a few bad caps). Everything looked just fine (no swollen caps, no dark areas, etc.). The power supply board number is: 79044120-R (490441200113R on back side of board).

Based on what I read on another post, I tested the voltage across the large capacitor. It read 165.8V steady. I also tested the voltage levels on Pins 3 and 7 of U850 (power controller). Pin 3 was 18.18V steady and Pin 7 was 15.52V steady.

Based on this information, can anyone offer me any suggestions as to what I should try next?

    Thank you.

    Jim

Try bypassing the power switch entirely. That's one thing to try. Also, do you have an ESR meter?
Don't buy those $10 PSU "specials". They fail, and they have taken whole computers with them.

My computer doubles as a space heater.

Asus Q550LF (Old main laptop, 2014-2022) - Decommissioned and stripped due to a myriad of problems, the main battery bloating being the final nail in the coffin.

What do you mean by bypassing the power switch?

@JimsMonitors: How about some clear pictures of the unit and boards?

Fully removing it from the circuit and when plugged in to mains, touching both wires together to simulate the pressing of the power button.

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
          by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Dell Precision 3660 - BIOS Image, Hidden Settings, Thermal Settings ?
          by juergenb
I got my self a new Dell Workstation (Dell Precision 3660, i5-13500).

Unfortunately, Dell has fixed the front fanΒ΄s settings in the BIOS.
Both the speed and the presence of the fan are fixed.

There seems to be no hidden setting.

The thermal tables for the speeds were changed in one of the last BIOS updates.

Do you see a possibility to change these tables from the BIOS update file?

          Precision_3660_2.1.0 -> Release Notes

Updated the thermal table to reduce fan noise.
