Apple Cinema Display 30 Green Lines

Hello, i have this apple cinema display 30'' LCD screen, the STA-1 version (first version) that has an issue with lines of green pixels, on darker areas. It's not constant, but it's rather annoying.

I've replaced the main lcd cable (the bigger cable) and changed the video card on the pc. The issue has remained...

Would it be the TCON ? I THINK i've changed it a while ago to check if it would still do it, but i might re-swap it to confirm. Can it be the panel by itself that's going south ?

If i change the resolution to something lower, 1280X800 or 1920X1200, it goes away instantly. It just appears when using native 2440X1600. When switching resolutions, problem goes away for a few seconds or minutes, then comes back. This one, i have no clue so far..

    Thanks for any input, vincent

You say it works fine, indefinitely, at lower than native resolution? Then it's not the panel, not the t-con. Only the main board can do that. A T-con or panel defect will manifest itself with all resolutions, because by the time it gets there, it's just "dumb" signals driving a bunch of pixels.

If you say the problem goes away for a little while after you switch resolutions, sounds like something that is overheating and cooling down for a bit when you do the switch. Try spraying various components of the mobo with freeze spray and see where that gets you.

Hi there, well it's instantly going off if i switch to a lower resolution. When i posted this yesterday, monitor was on for hours, then switching to lower res instantly got rid of the pixels. If it was heat, it wouldn't do it instant.. I think !

Like right now, it didn't come back. It will eventually come back.. But since i switched the res, no signs of weird pixels.

So, main board still ? I think it might be heat related also.. I have some 4mm thermal pads that i could use on the mainboard's hotter parts, i might try that.

Well, just for the matter of feedback, never fixed this and this is a common issue. Most of the ACD 30'' STA1 (older rev of the boards) will do this after some time, and never found a way to fix it, other than just switching res.
