    Acer AL1916 pink tint

The "acer" and "no signal" screens don't seem to exhibit this behavior. The moment I plug in the VGA cable the PC image gets displayed with a strong pink tint. The "menu" and "<" ">" keys do noting. "Auto brightens up the screen and does some positioning, but it's still pink, only less so; at the end of the adjustment it goes back to its initial pink hue state. The "power" button also works OK. It's not the lamps, the pink is much more intense, more red and uniform. I suspected the logic board, no bulging capacitors there. Does anyone have any experience with this type of problem?

The cable works OK with another monitor, re-soldered the VGA connector. No change and the "menu" key still does nothing.

If you cant get to the memory maybe the eeprom is corrupt

        Manual here http://www.manualslib.com/manual/269...?page=1#manual

Try turning monitor off and unplug then hold the power button in and replug

Perhaps check the button board and cable

Does the panel show ehite if you disconnect the lvds cable

Please can you update profile with country and mains voltage

Updated the country and mains voltage info.

Checked the buttons board and cable, continuity test OK. Unplugging + replugging while holding power didn't help. The panel is white with the lvds cable removed. I fear it's the eeprom. Do people usually re-flash the eeprom or is it unheard of/rare?

Just spotted this searching for PINK- not your machine but perhaps caps on the main???

The HP 1907 does have Backlight problems, usually associated with the top set of lamps, due to poor soldering and not good quality wire used on the return wires.Sometimes a failing Lamp can give a Pink screen and needs replacing,BUT if the Black Screen is more Crimson than Pink, then the only time I have seen this, was caused by faulty capacitors on the Logic Board.

It might work, as long as the pinout for the LVDS connector is correct, or you can rewire it if it's not. It sounds like an interesting device. I might have to give one a try myself and see what it's like.

If it doesn't work... some other ideas:

I have had buttons not working due to shorted debounce capacitor or bad tactile switch.

A shorted protection diode to ground or open series component on the Green input line (eg: loss of green signal) could cause a pink image.

Just a smd resistor and capacitor on the green input line, both ok.
Attached a picture of that universal controller. Don't hold your breath though, delivery time is 15-30 business days

I wonder how it will know which pins are power pins for the LCD panel will be for the T-CON on the LCD panel beside the correct LVDS signal lines. You can easily damage this board or the T-con board if the power pin is not correct.
The spec sheet of the LCD panel will be required to get the pin out.

I don't think it will automatically work like that. That's why I said he will have to verify the pinouts before powering it up. From the pictures I saw online (though it was for a different, but similar board) they have silkscreened the connector names on the board for the LVDS connector so it shouldn't be too hard.
